Prayer For Healing A Marriage

Dear Heavenly Father,

Disagreements over finances, and the stress of debt can wear a couple down. Sometimes it breaks them, and sometimes it makes them stronger together.

We want to fight for our marriage. We want to work through the tough times together, wisely finding ways to manage the money we have, and joyfully accepting all that we're given.

If we come to poverty, help us stand firm on the promise we made, to have and to hold for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer. If we have much, show us ways to invest in our future, and give for Your glory and honour.

Give us a sense of peace and contentment regardless of what state we are in, believing that You will provide for our needs according to Your merciful glory and grace.

Amen.

Dear Heavenly Father,

Please help us to grow. Give us the wisdom to put aside our desires for those things that we know to be good.

Grant us the strength to exercise the areas of our lives where we lack. Give us a focus and the perseverance to run.

May we step out in faith rather than sitting around waiting for motivation to move us. We know what we should be doing, and we know what we should be changing, but we're lacking self-discipline. Give us the wisdom to grow and the strength to move forward.

Amen.

Heavenly Father we come before you to thank you for all you have done and continue to do in our lives and marriage. We come before you today, God, asking for a stronger bond of unity in our marriage covenant.

Father we ask that you will give us the ability to be a united front for you letting nothing come between us.

Help us, Father to identify and work through anything that is not pleasing to you so we can continually reach higher levels of unity in our marriage spiritually, physically, and mentally.

We are thankful and excited to see the work of your hand as we do our best to seek your face daily. We love you and thank you for all of these things.

We thank you, O God, for the Love You have implanted in our hearts. May it always inspire us to be kind in our words, considerate of feeling, and concerned for each other's needs and wishes. Help us to be understanding and forgiving of human weaknesses and failings. Increase our faith and trust in You and may Your Prudence guide our life and love. Bless our Marriage O God, with Peace and Happiness, and make our love fruitful for Your glory and our Joy both here and in eternity.

Father, your greatest command was to love You and love each other. You've given marriage as a holy relationship that reflects our relationship with You. Show us how to follow your example and set aside our selfishness and pride and humbly serve each other. Help us to be of one spirit and of one mind and value each other above ourselves, looking out for each other's interests. In the midst of our busy lives, help us take time to love each other deeply from the heart, as you have loved us. May the love we have for each other be an example to the world of how You love them and gave Your life for them.

Lord, I pray for your peace to rule richly in my marriage and in my home. You said in your Word that the peace you give passes all understanding. I receive that peace right now. I choose to let the peace of Christ rest in my heart. As the peace of Christ rest in my heart, it will extend to my marriage.

Father, we understand that we live in a broken world, and sometimes marriage doesn't flesh out in the way You purposed it to. We fail each other and fail You, so often. But miraculously, You love us no less. You never give up on us. It's never too late, even when we feel it's too late for our marriages. We're feeling that way, today, Father like it's too late. We are ready to throw our arms in the air and give up. We feel given up on, misunderstood, and hurt beyond repair.

Father,

Sovereign, omnipotent, all-knowing. These are the big and complicated words that describe who You are. Never fully able to grasp how deep and wide and long Your love is for us, we humbly praise You today for who You are. Whether or not we meet you in moments of clarity or confusion, You are God. You are good. You are sovereign, omnipotent, all-knowing. When the world is unfair to us You are fair to defend us. As we unravel, You rewind the spool. What we cannot see, You have already gone before and prepared for us.

So good are You God, that even when no words or feelings of joy are flitting to the surface or permeating our minds, the Holy Spirit is faithful to stir in us three words of hope: Don't give up.
