Prayer For Guidance In Making A Decision
Lord, today I pray for a humble spirit to depend on you totally in my life decisions. You promised me in your word that you will lead the humble in what is right and teach the humble his way. Father, I decrease that you might increase in me. Grant me your guidance, and with it grant me the humble obedience to accept it in Jesus name. Amen.
Holy Spirit, fill me with the wisdom that I need to succeed in my life decisions. Help me with your wisdom daily as I battle through tough decisions in my career, marriage, business, finances, academics and ministry. Teach me, Lord, not to depend wholly on my own thoughts and opinions. I need your wisdom to do the right thing at the right time. Oh Lord, help me with the wisdom to choose rightly and to choose the right way in Jesus Christ name I pray. Amen.
Lord God, I pray for a clear understanding and a peace that only you can provide. Remind me that my thoughts are not your thoughts and my ways are not your ways (Isaiah 55:8-9) when I am struggling to see clearly and make decisions and that peace is a gift only you supply. When I'm restless, anxious, and uneasy, strengthen me to move forward with eyes only fixed on you. Please keep the enemy from polluting my heart and confusing my mind as I draw nearer to your truths, Lord.
Father, I need wisdom that only your Spirit can give me. Help me to not lean solely on my own opinions, thoughts, or dreams or what my society, culture, and circle have to say. I need godly not earthly wisdom, Lord. Please supply me in knowledge and truth as I battle these tough decisions and uncertainty. Father, open my eyes to the barriers holding me back from spiritual progress and help me to walk confidently as I discern the next steps I need to take in my life.
O God, you know that todayor very soonI must make a
decision which is going to affect my whole life.
Help me to choose rightlyand to choose the right way.
Grant me your guidance, and with it grant me the humble
obedience to accept it.
Help me not necessarily to choose what I want to do, but what
you want me to do.
Grant that I may not be swayed solely by fear or by hope of gain,
by selfish love of ease or comfort or by personal ambition, by
the desire to escape or by longing for prestige.
Help me today in humble obedience to say to you, Lord, what
will you have me to do? and then await your guidance, and
accept your leading.
Hear this prayer of mine and send an answer so clear that I
cannot mistake it.
This I ask for your love's sake! Amen.
Dear God, we come before you today to give thanks for Your everlasting love and to ask for your guidance in this great decision that must be made. Lord, help us to understand what You want in this situation and aid us in executing Your will. Help us realize that this decision is in Your hands, even if we are uncertain. In Your name we trust, Amen.
All-knowing God, your word is living and active. Help me to be attentive to your voice as you guide me through life. Your word is a lamp for my feet. When I don't know where I am going, help me to listen to you and follow the path that you show me. You are a light shining in the darkness. When I don't know which way to turn would you shine the light of your love into the cloud of confusion. Bring clarity to my mind. Through Jesus Christ, our Lord, Amen.
Father God, I draw near to you as I make this decision. Lord, I confess the anxieties, fears and insecurities which arise within me. I draw nearer to your heart for this world and nearer to your heart for me. Lord, guide my thoughts to be clear and free as I consider the options. May I know your wisdom in this process. I draw into your kingdom promises, and I breathe in your hope. Lord, bring clarity into this situation. Please bless me with renewed vision and a clear calling from you. I draw into your loving care and to your presence, for here I know that no matter what my decision, you are always with me, I am not alone. Thankyou, Amen.
