Prayer For Gratitude

Loving Father, thank you that every good and perfect gift comes from you, the Father of lights. Thank you for the gift of life today. Let me be rooted and established in you, overflowing with thankfulness for the blessings you have poured into my life. May I rejoice in the generosity you have shown me throughout my life. May I praise you for the rest of my days. You are able to do far more abundantly than all that I ask or imagine, according to the power at work within me. To you be glory throughout all generations, forever and ever. Through Jesus Christ, our Lord, Amen.

Heavenly Father, I give thanks to you because you are good and your faithful love endures forever. Thank you that you do not forget your people but hear their cry and save them. Thank you that nothing is impossible for your mighty hand. Thank you that you show compassion and mercy to your children. Thank you that you know my every need and satisfy my desires. Thank you that you have forgiven my sin. Thank you that you have conquered the powers of Satan, sin and death. Thank you that I will live in eternity with you, free from suffering, pain and tears. Through Jesus Christ, our Lord, Amen.

Generous Father, thank you that, by you, all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible. I praise you with all of my heart for your love for me. I thank you for all your wonderful deeds. I worship you for the gift of salvation. I glorify you for my secure, eternal future with you. According to your abundant mercy, you have caused me to be born again into a living hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. Let me continuously praise you. In your powerful name, Amen.

All-Knowing God, thank you that you are the resurrection and the life, death holds no power over you. Your word says that, even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. Thank you for your strength and protection. Let me be filled with gratitude to you. Thank you that neither death or life, angels or rulers, things present or future, height or depth, or anything else in all creation, will be able to separate me from your love. Through Jesus Christ, our Lord, Amen.

Abba, Father, thank you that you are gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and abounding in love. Jesus said that, in the same way, that we like to give good gifts to our children, you also delight to give us good gifts. May I start each day with thanksgiving for your blessings. May I end each day with gratitude for your grace. Fill my life with thanksgiving that will free me from feelings of resentment. To you be the glory both now and to the day of eternity. Through Jesus Christ, our Lord, Amen.

We should be thankful because God is worthy of our thanksgiving. It is only right to credit Him for every good and perfect gift He gives (James 1:17). When we are thankful, our focus moves off selfish desires and off the pain of current circumstances. It also helps us to remember that God is ultimately in control. Beginning each morning with gratitude will provide you with a great foundation. Prayer is one of the intentional ways you can cultivate a grateful heart for yourself. Start your day off with this prayer for gratitude:

Dear God, I thank you for waking me up today. You have given me another sunrise to enjoy. Thank you for the wonderful sounds of nature and the cool breeze brushing through the trees making the birds sing beautiful melodies. I praise You, Father, for allowing me to live another beautiful day in Your Kingdom. Amen.

Dear Lord Jesus, thank You for my Mom and for all the love and patience that she has tirelessly given to me throughout my life. I am so grateful for her and although I don't often show her how much I love her, I do want to thank You with all my heart for blessing me with my dear mother.
Thank You for all the sacrifices that she has made for me on so many occasions, and for the way that she never seems to think about her own needs, but always tries to do what is best for me. And I am also very grateful for her faithful prayers for me, day by day, for I know that they have been instrumental in keeping me steady on those occasions when I might have gone astray.
I pray Your special blessing on my Mom and ask that You would guard her and protect her with good health. Fill her with Your comfort and joy, and may she grow ever closer to You in the days that lie ahead. I ask this in Jesus' name,
Amen.

Father, I want to lift up my hands and voice to worship You in thanksgiving and praise, for all the goodness and loving-kindness that You so freely pour out on me with every passing day.
Thank You for the grace that You supply moment by moment and day by day, and I pray that You would develop in me a true attitude of gratefulness and a heart that acknowledges the long-suffering way that You are working in so many area of my life.
Lord, I am so very grateful to You and pray that You would keep my heart filled with appreciation for all You have done for me. Develop in me a godly attitude of gratefulness so that I may never cease to praise You for Your gracious goodness to me and to all people.
May I learn to recognise that all the gifts and graces I have is a result of Your loving-kindness towards me, and may I never cease to lift up my hands and voice to You in grateful praise for all You are doing in my life. May the Lord Jesus be glorified I pray,
Amen.
