Prayer For Gratefulness
O, heavenly Father: We thank thee for food and remember the hungry.
We thank thee for health and remember the sick.
We thank thee for friends and remember the friendless.
We thank thee for freedom and remember the enslaved.
May these remembrances stir us to service,
that thy gifts to us may be used for others.
Amen.
Abba, Father, I am thankful that I can have precious intimacy with You. My heart has heard You say, Come and talk with Me, and my soul responds, Lord, I am coming! You are closer to me than my own family, and You will never abandon me. You have always been my friend and my protector, loving me more than I can ever comprehend. My heart sings in gratefulness to You, lover of my soul. Amen.
Jesus, my Savior, I thank You for bearing all my sins and sickness and sorrows on Your body as You went to the cross. Thank You for paying the price, for redeeming me, for rescuing me from darkness, and bringing me into eternal life with You. What joy for those whose sins are forgiven! Thank You, Jesus, for drawing me to Yourself. You surround me with songs of victory! Amen.
Jehovah-Jireh, my Provider, I thank You for compassionately caring for my every need. Thank You for providing me with employment, with a comfortable place to live, and good food to eat. I am truly grateful that Your gracious hand of provision has covered me all my life. I thank You that everywhere I look, I see Your blessings. You answer my prayers even before I open my mouth. I rejoice in You! Amen.
Jesus, I thank You that when You ascended to the Father, that You gave the Holy Spirit to indwell us and guide us. I thank You that when I commit everything to You and trust You, that You direct my steps, and You delight in every detail of my life. I thank You that You hold me by the hand and give me good counsel. I thank You for blessing me with Your wisdom. Amen.
Heavenly Father, I am grateful to You for blessing me with a wonderful family. Thank You that I am surrounded by love and companionship, and I always have someone to turn to for advice and affirmation people who know me and my frailties well. Even when things are less than perfect and sometimes chaotic, I thank You that I see Your face in the love and support of my family. Amen.
I exalt You, Lord, for You rescued me from sickness You refused to let this disease triumph over me. O Lord my God, I cried out to You for help, and You restored my health. I praise Your holy name, for Your favor lasts for a lifetime. I thank You that joy comes in the morning. You have turned my weeping into dancing. O Lord my God, I will give thanks to You forever! Amen.
Oh Lord, my light and my salvation, I am grateful that You are my fortress, protecting me from danger. I delight in Your perfections. I thank You that I can remain confident, even when in peril, for You place me on a high rock, out of reach of harm. I thank You that I can live safely. I offer sacrifices of praise to You with joy, singing and praising You. Thank You, God of my salvation. Amen.
