Prayer For Government Leaders
When our government leaders and civil servants pursue evil and abuse their power, lead them to humility and repentance. Empower those serving in government who love You to stand up for what is right and speak truth in love, no matter the consequences.
While exercising our responsibilities as citizens to speak up for righteousness and stand up against evil, teach us how to honor and pay our debt of love toward those with whom we disagree. Keep far from us, rebellious attitudes and hateful and snarky speech, unbecoming of a child of God. May no critical word leave our mouths that has not been spoken humbly before Your throne as we pray fervently for those who serve in government. But when policies and laws violate Your will, help us to humbly disobey them and commit our wellbeing into your hands as we wholeheartedly obey You.
We pray that You would help our leaders to govern wisely. Draw those who do not know You to Jesus and those who know You to rest in Your power and purpose for their lives. Bring them emotional stability, mental clarity, and physical endurance to do their work. Regardless of their faith, please bestow upon them Your common grace and strength to effectively carry out their responsibilities to preserve peace and tranquility in the land so that Your people may flourish and the gospel may spread unhindered throughout the land.

Heavenly Father, we praise and thank You that You are the most High God Who rules in the kingdom of men. You set up leaders in their various offices and remove them by Your mighty will.
Father, we lift up the leaders of our country and all those that You have set up in places of authority to rule and govern our nation, both political and religious, and we pray that they would rule our land and the many institutions with wisdom and integrity.
We pray that each one would carry out their various responsibilities with honesty and for the benefit of the nation. Clothe each one with righteousness and justice, and we pray that all selfish ambitions would be laid aside, and that Your plans and purposes are fulfillled for the well-being of all citizens.
May Your ways be known in our country and Your name be lifted up in the corridors of power. Guide our country we pray, into the ways of peace, justice and truth. This we ask in Jesus' name,

Father, I'm praying for (name them) and other government and community leaders throughout our towns, cities, states, and nation...
Save those who are not yet Your own. Give those in authority wisdom in every decision, and help them to think clearly. Grant them discernment and common sense so they'll be strong and effective leaders. (Titus 3:5; James 1:5; Proverbs 3:21)
Help them to lead and govern with integrity, and may their integrity guide them and keep them on track. (1 Kings 9:4; Proverbs 11:3a; Psalm 78:72; 1 Timothy 2:14)
Be merciful to give us leaders who are Spirit-filled and follow Your principles. Direct their steps according to Your Word for their decisions have a great impact on our lives! (Ephesians 5:18b; Psalm 119:105, 133a)
Be their defender and protector, and keep them always on guard. Help those who are Christians to be strong and courageous, standing firm in their faith and influencing others for Your kingdom. Encourage and strengthen them, giving them the wisdom they need. Help them to have courage and faith in You, no matter what they're facing day-to-day. (Proverbs 23:11; Psalm 41:2a; 1 Corinthians 16:13; Deuteronomy 1:38; 3:28; 2 Chronicles 1:10a; Acts 27:22, 25)

God of power and might, wisdom and justice,
through you authority is rightly administered,
laws are enacted, and judgment is decreed.
Assist with your spirit of counsel and fortitude
the President and other government leaders of these United
States.
May they always seek
the ways of righteousness, justice and mercy.
Grant that they may be enabled by your powerful protection
to lead our country with honesty and integrity.
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Jesus, you were born in a little town. You grew up under the authority of local leaders and officials who managed the majority of your daily life. We lift up our local leaders today. We pray for our mayors, city councils, county commissioners, police chiefs, judges, and all who serve our local communities. Strengthen them with wisdom and grace for the heavy burdens they carry. May they manage their teams and projects with love. Keep their hearts pure and their eyes turned toward your face as they work in the best interests of the people they are called to serve.

Lord, no matter who is leading our country as President, we offer our prayers on behalf of his/her position. Draw him into a strong relationship with You. Thank You for this one who has pledged his life in service to our country. Give him a true servant spirit, one who is a person after Your own heart. Anoint him with the Holy Spirit's power, that he might feel Your strength in every situation. Let integrity and honesty guide every decision as He first looks to You for divine help. Turn his heart from distractions and temptations that could bring harm rather than help to his life, his family, and to the people he serves. Make him a leader in every respect, morally and spiritually strong. Enlighten his mind with discernment, wisdom, and fairness.
When others tempt him to embrace arrogant power rather than humble service, give him an undivided heart. Help him to stand firm, knowing that You will fight his battles with him. May He begin His day with You and Your Word, with gratitude and praise for the honor You have given to him. Throughout the day may Your Spirit remind him of his purpose and of Your love for him. And when the night arrives, calm his heart with the peace that passes all understanding as he purposes to keep trusting and obeying You, no matter what the cost. As You surround him with godly counselors, give him accountability to them and the people he serves, but first and foremost to You. Bless him with joy when righteousness and goodness prevail. But give him a heart that weeps for the injustices and sorrows around him.
Guard our President against unfair criticism and unfounded accusations. When he stumbles, give him the courage to admit his mistakes. Strengthen his character, guard him against hurtful compromise, and give him a listening ear for the people he serves. In danger, surround him and our country with Your angel protection. From the time he begins in office until his time is complete, may he serve you and our country as a true leader with an undying love, an unswerving faith, and an unending hope in the only One who can make our country great.
