Prayer For Good Work
Do you see someone skilled in their work? They will serve before kings; they will not serve before officials of low rank. Proverbs 22:29 (NIV)
Lord, help me to do all that You call me to do in this season and not one thing more.
What do You want me to do? What do You want me to stop? What boundaries should I set on my work?
Dear Lord, I need to regain joy in my tasks. Help me to worship You as I work, doing it all for the King of Kings. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
Jesus, my Savior, it is another beautiful day that you've enabled us to come to our place of work. I thank you for my colleagues and me. Jesus, help us to work as a team. Remove comparison and rivalry mentality from our hearts and help us to focus on the greater good, which is the growth of this company. Let this place be fun and help us to live in harmony with each other. In your all-powerful name, I pray, Amen.
Light gently arises
The morning beckons
This is your day,
A gift.
A day that you have made.
I listen to the birds singing
And I leave behind my slumber
To awake.
I awake with you Lord.
We arise together.
May this working day
Be full of wonder,
Wonder at the morning
That carries me, through each moment
Filled with thanks and praise.
Lord Jesus, as I enter this workplace,
I bring Your presence with me.
I speak Your peace, Your grace, and Your perfect order into the atmosphere of this office.
I acknowledge Your Lordship over all that will be spoken, thought, decided and accomplished within these walls.
Lord Jesus, I thank You for the gifts You have deposited in me.
I do not take them lightly, but commit to using them responsibly and well.
Give me a fresh supply of truth and beauty on which to draw as I do my job.
Anoint my creativity, my ideas, my energy so that even my smallest task may bring You honor.
Lord, when I am confused, guide me. When I am weary, energize me.
Lord, when I am burned out, infuse me with the light of Your Holy Spirit.
May the work that I do and the way I do it bring hope, life, and courage to all that I come in contact with today.
And, oh Lord, even in this day's most stressful moment, may I rest in You.

Father, thank you for all the ways you've blessed me, specifically with this job that pays my bills and puts food on my table. Thank you that ALL work has significance because work is good. Help me bring you glory today, through my actions, my words, through the good work I do to bring order to my little corner of the world. Help me view my work as a blessing and not a curse. Give me grace and strength for the hardest aspects of my job. In Jesus' Name I pray, Amen.
Dear God,
You know my needs. You know my desire for a job, for work I enjoy doing, for the next step in my career to present itself. I pray that you would guide me as I continue on this job hunting journey. May I focus first on your will for my life, putting your desires and your plan above my own wishes and wants. Open doors to new opportunities that you desire for me, and equip me with the skills, knowledge, and wisdom I need to take steps forward in this process. As I craft my resume, write cover letters, submit my applications, connect with new companies and potential employers, and go on interviews, give me the words to speak and the courage to share who I am and what I can do. Give me confidence that can only come from you, and give me humility too. I trust you, Lord-- my life is in your hands. Your will be done. Thank you for being near to me every step of the way and thank you for always providing for my every need. May this all be for your glory.

Sovereign Lord, your word says that if anyone lacks wisdom, they should ask from you, and you give it to them generously. Father, I'm asking for wisdom for this challenging situation that I'm facing here at my workplace. Show me how to handle this. Guide me in the way that I should go. Help me to find creative ways to handle difficult problems and fill me with hope and excitement for what awaits me today. Lord, may I depend on your grace throughout the day as I go about my duties. In Jesus' name, I pray, Amen.
Faithful Father, thank you for my job. Lord, your word says that in everything that we do, we should do it as unto you, not man. Today as I start my job, let me do it as unto you and not man. I cover my colleague and me with the blood of Jesus. Help us to be energized so that we may be able to tackle problems with grace. Lord, keep our minds clear from any manner of distractions and help us to be inspired to do excellent work for the glory of your holy name. In Jesus' name, we pray, Amen.
