Prayer For Calmness And Peace Of Mind

Lord, please put Your peace in my heart.

I'm worried and anxious.

My mind races and obsesses.

I can't help thinking about my problems.

And the more I think about them, the more depressed I become.

I feel like I'm sinking down in quicksand and can't get out.

Calm me, Lord.

Slow me down, put Your peace in my heart.

No matter what problem I have, Lord,

You are bigger, You are more powerful than it is.

So I bring my problem to You.

I know what I want.

I know my will.

I do not know Yours.

I do not know how You will use this problem for my salvation.

I do not know what good You will workout from this evil.

But I trust You.

I trust Your goodness and Your wisdom.

So I place myself in Your hands.

Please fill my heart with peace.

Let peace return, O Lord please bless our hearts with love, our minds with rest, our bonds with unity and trust. Help us to kneel now at your cross.

Let peace return, O Lord refill this place with gentle words until this home becomes a sanctuary, a harbor safe, a hope retreat.

Let peace return, O Lord we need your words of life, to sow new seed, to grow new hope, to rise anew and find the light of forgiveness in you.

Let peace return, O Lord blow through our family with grace and truth. Blow through the storms of life we sing our faith is in the peace you bring!

Father in Heaven,

I feel so sad, because my heart is broken. I have lost the feelings of love in this relationship. I feel empty and so bewildered by what has happened.

You are my rock, my help in times of trouble.I need you. I need your restoration, your love and hope in my heart. I trust you can heal the brokenness I feel.

Amen.

Almighty God, we bless you for our lives, we give you praise for your abundant mercy and grace we receive. We thank you for your faithfulness even though we are not that faithful to you. Lord Jesus, we ask you to give us all around peace in our mind, body, soul and spirit. We want you to heal and remove everything that is causing stress, grief, and sorrow in our lives.

Please guide our path through life and make our enemies be at peace with us. Let your peace reign in our family, at our place of work, businesses and everything we lay our hands on.

Let your angels of peace go ahead of us when we go out and stay by our side when we return.

In Jesus' name, Amen.

Dear God, our world is hurting and broken.

We pray for those who have lost loved ones this week, please comfort them in their grief and loss, cover them with your peace and presence, as only your Spirit can do. We know that in whatever we face, you are our peace and refuge, a very present help in times of trouble. Thank you that you remind us throughout your word, we do not face the storms alone, but you are always with us. Whispering calm. Speaking peace. Bringing rest to our souls.

We confess our need for you. We ask you to forgive us for trying to figure everything out on our own, for not trusting that you are more than able and powerful to work on our behalf. Forgive us for picking back up what we already determined to lay down at your feet. Give us the ability to trust you more, give us a heart that finds rest in your presence, give us the wisdom to seek peace and pursue it, remembering it's only to be found in you alone.

Thank you that your yoke is easy and your burden is light. Thank you that you care for us. Thank you that the peace of your loving and strong presence guards and protects our hearts and minds in you. Thank you that we do not have to walk in fear or live in overwhelmed cycles of worry and stress. Thank you for your voice that breaks through the greatest wind and storm swirling around us, and whispers Peace, be still. Thank you that you sent your One and Only Son to set us free.

In the Mighty Name of Jesus, Amen.

O Lord our God, in your mercy and kindness, no thought of ours is left unnoticed, no desire or concern ignored.

You have proven that blessings abound when we fall on our knees in prayer, and so we turn to you in our hour of need.

Surrounded by violence and cries for justice, we hear your voice telling us what is required . . .

Only to do justice and to love goodness, and to walk humbly with your God.

Fill us with your mercy so that we, in turn, may be merciful to others.

Strip away pride, suspicion, and racism so that we may seek peace and justice in our communities.

Strengthen our hearts so that they beat only to the rhythm of your holy will.

Flood our path with your light as we walk humbly toward a future filled with encounter and unity.

Be with us, O Lord, in our efforts, for only by the prompting of your grace can we progress toward virtue.

We ask this through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Amen.

As I go to work, be with me Lord.

Be the patience when I'm frustrated.

Be the endurance when I am tired.

Be the wisdom when I am uncertain.

Be the inspiration when I'm out of ideas.

Be the peacemaker when I feel hurt.

Be the comforter when I feel overwhelmed.

Be the energy when I am weary.

Be the guide when I am confused.

Be the forgiver when I get it wrong.

Be with me Lord, today.

Lord God,

You promise the peace of a still lake even in the midst of a storm.

You promise the peace of a slumbering child even in the middle of tension and disagreement.

You promise the peace of a poppy field even in the place of heartbreak and devastation.

Your promise is a peace that surpasses our human understanding.

So I choose to rest by the still waters, to lie down and rest amongst the poppies.

Your resurrection declared peace over trauma, power over death, and life everlasting.

I trust in you.
