Prayer For A Loved One Who Is Hurting
Look on my affliction and deliver me,
God, I know you see her. Today, would you remind her that you've not forgotten her? Your Word says that you are near to the brokenhearted, and that you will never leave her or forsake her. Father, help her to have confidence in your deliverance even when it seems so very far away or looks different than what she had in mind
for I do not forget your law.
Lord, help her to cling to your Word even when she doesn't understand. Bring your promises to her mind and replace any destructive thoughts with your truth. Turn her eyes to your statutes and remind her that your ways are good, even if her emotions or circumstances try to convince her otherwise. Especially on days when trials cloud her thinking, help her to not forget your law
Plead my cause and redeem me;
Who better to plead her cause than you, Lord? I praise you that you are Redeemer and Savior; that nothing is too hard for you or beyond your grasp. Jesus, thank you for interceding on her behalf and for providing a way out. You are the only way. Jesus, please make a way for my friend
give me life according to your promise!
Quicken her in her spirit, Father. Fill her deepest longings until she overflows with a joy that can only be found in you. Awaken what is dead in her, heal what is broken in her, and bring new life to her situation. Jesus, thank you that your promises have stood the test of time, and that your faithfulness endures to all generations
Salvation is far from the wicked,
God, there is no salvation apart from you. I plead for you to make yourself known to those who are living in darkness. Help them to see their need for a Savior and to turn from their wicked ways. Father, shine your light and send your Spirit to convict hearts and bring repentance. Thank you that you are a God who restores and offers new beginnings by your grace. Thank you for pursuing the lost long after we have given up hope
for they do not seek your statutes.
Lord, when others turn their backs on you, help my friend to stand strong in her commitment to you. When her enemies seek personal gain at her expense, help her to find her worth and security in you. When jealousy overcomes them and when idols consume them, God help her to follow hard after you for in you alone is lasting peace and freedom found.
Great is your mercy, O Lord;
Father God, thank you that even in the struggle your mercy reigns. Remind my friend that even the darkness is not dark to you, that you are gracious and good, and that no detail escapes your control. Give her strength to utter words of praise even in the waiting. Act on her behalf for her good and your glory, because that's what your mercy does best
give me life according to your rules.
Jesus, breathe life into her dry bones. Breathe life so that she can make a fresh start in your redeeming love. Breathe life to sustain her when her world crumbles all around her. Breathe life, bringing constant reminders of the greatness of who you are. Make your Word come alive once more so that she runs to your promises with hope in the midst of her suffering.
{A prayer prompted by Psalm 119:153-156}
God, I know you see her. Today, would you remind her that you've not forgotten her?
At His feet,
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God. For as the sufferings of Christ abound in us, so our consolation also abounds through Christ.

For as the sufferings of Christ abound in us, so our consolation also abounds through Christ.
Lord, I know you want me to pray for this person. You already know how difficult this is for me and at this point, I really don't want to (remember, you don't have to sugar coat it. He already knows). But Lord, I pray your will in this person's life. I pray they turn to you for direction and forgiveness and see how much they have hurt me.
Please give me eyes to see them from your perspective, and a heart to want to forgive. I ask for patience while you work your will and to show me how to be the loving Christian you have called me to be.
Dear God,
Some days feel too hard. We're hurting. Struggling. Fighting fear and worry at every turn. Thank you in the midst of it all, you haven't left us to fend for ourselves. Forgive us for doubting you are there. Forgive us for thinking you've forgotten. Forgive us for believing we somehow know the better way.
You are fully trustworthy. You are All-Powerful. You are Able. You are Lord over every situation no matter how difficult it may seem. You are Healer and will never waste the grief we carry today. You will use all things for good in some way. Anything is possible with you. Nothing is too difficult for you.
We pray for those who grieve today. We ask for your comfort to surround those who weep. We pray for the peace of your presence to cover our minds and thoughts, as you remind us, the enemy can never steal us out of your hands. He never has the final say over our lives. We are kept safe in your presence forever, whether in life or in death.
We thank you that your ways are higher than our ways and your thoughts are bigger than our thoughts.
We lay it all down at your feet, every burden, every care. Believing that is the safest place for it to be.
We love you, Lord, we need your fresh grace.
In the Powerful Name of Jesus,
Amen.
Lord, when I open my eyes each day, help me to feel your presence. Help me to keep in step with your Holy Spirit and be counseled by your word. My heart aches and I am worn out from crying. Please help me rise out of my hurt and sorrow.
Thank you Lord for reminding me of your faithfulness. Though this pain is overwhelming at times, I am encouraged to know that you have equipped me with just what I need to deal with it. Because of you, I can and will endure it according to your purpose for my life.
Dear God,
Our hearts are burdened for our friends who are hurting right now. We ask that you would be their comforter, that you would cover them with your infinite grace and mercy, surrounding them in peace during this dark season. We pray for fresh grace, for renewed strength, for your goodness and mercy over their lives today.
We thank you that you alone are our refuge and strong tower. We thank you that no matter what we face, you are still on the throne, you are still in control, and nothing can ever stand against you. Thank you that you hold the victory in this world, and you have promised in your Word that you will be with us through any hardship we may face.
We know that only in you do we have the hope to face dark and uncertain times, for our future is held secure through the gift of Christ. We ask for you to extend your hope and compassion to our loved ones right now. In these days when they're struggling, or seem to have lost their way at times, would you please remind them that you are still here. With them. Close. That you are bigger than this storm they're facing, and you promise to hold them secure.
Thank you God that you are with us always, that your presence is mighty, and you hear our prayers on behalf of those we love. We ask that you would show yourself strong on their behalf. Remind them that nothing is too difficult for you, and you are leading them through this difficult time, covering them in your care. We know and believe beyond any doubt, that your power and love will never fail.
You are always trustworthy. You are all-powerful. You are fully able. You are Lord over every situation no matter how difficult it may seem. You are our healer and will never waste the pain we carry today. You promise to use all things for good in some way, because you are a God of miracles and nothing is too difficult for you.
All these burdens we carry for our friend today, we lay at your feet, Lord. We give them to you, and we thank you that you hear our prayers and are at work on their behalf even now. Thank you that you fight for us, even when we can't see all that you're doing, even when we can't fully understand your ways. We know that nothing can ever separate us from your great love and care, and our loved ones are safe in your hands.
In Jesus' Name,
Amen.
