Prayer For Afghanistan

Gracious Heavenly Father, Your Word states: The earth is the Lord's, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it; for He founded it on the seas and established it on the waters. (Psalm 24:1,2). You love the people of Afghanistan. We ask that Your plans and purposes for Afghanistan be established. Confuse and confound those who are resisting Your plans and prosper the efforts of those who are working in accordance with Your plans. Guide and direct Afghan people and coalition personnel who are working for the good of the people of Afghanistan and who want peace and stability. Protect them and the innocent Afghan people from harm. Raise up leaders for Afghanistan who are upright and seek what is best for the people. Work in the hearts and minds of Afghans to remove barriers to belief in You. Please bring many into Your kingdom. In Jesus name. Amen

Great and marvelous are your deeds, Lord God Almighty. Just and true are your ways, King of the nations. (Rev 15:3). Father we praise you for your great and marvelous deeds. Please give the Afghans good leaders who will do what is best for the people and the country. Help them to find solutions for ending the violence in this war weary land. Give them discernment to know who they can trust and when they can trust them. Disrupt the plans and activities of those who are violently attacking government installations and other facilities and causing harm to people. Protect the people from their schemes. May those who are violent be tamed by Your power and the working of Your Spirit. Open the hearts and minds of the Afghan people so they may see Your great love for them. Give them faith to believe You and to follow You. In Jesus name. Amen

Lord, You count the stars and You know them all by name. You measure the waves of the sea and place boundaries on its shores. You know the hairs on my head and the thoughts and intentions of my heart. Nothing escapes Your notice, there is no one else like You.

Lord, I thank you for the brave men and women of the military. I ask for Your blessing of unity to be on them as they work along side one another.

I focus on the military operations today in Afghanistan, and I ask for your grace and favor to be with the teams as they go out: help them to move together in unity, and to function as one cohesive unit. Knit them together, Lord, into a solid force for peace, and give them victory after victory today as they patrol this place. In Jesus name, amen.

God, you have create Afghanistan and made Afghans a passionate determined people. They believe they understand your purposes and will but we pray today beyond all things that they will find a true picture of your love and mercy and justice. We pray for that the spiritual passion of Afghans will be turned to a complete revelation of your Father's heart and your solid, covenant commitment of grace that has come to us in Jesus. We pray too for a miraculous resolve to the war there. Turn yourself and do battle against those who oppress and twist your justice for their own ends. Cripple the Taliban forces that seek to enslave the Afghan people with a perverted view of your heart. God, bring a wave a true revelation to this amazing nation and people. End this war. Give the American forces and our leaders here at home wisdom to cooperate with your best plans there. Work with and in the leaders of Afghanistan. Reveal your destiny for this nation to them, and may a true fear of the true God lead them as they lead their country. In Jesus we pray

Great Healer, please continue to work in little children's bodies to restore their well-being. Revive them, and bring their parents the resources and knowledge to know how to better care for them so they can grow up healthy. Guide World Vision's programs and allow more children to grow strong.

Lord, we praise You for the work being done to educate children and train teachers in Afghanistan. Multiply these efforts so even more children can learn and adults who missed out on their education as children can learn new skills.

Father, we thank You for the work You have equipped World Vision to carry out in influencing change in Afghanistan. We lift up this program to You and ask that You turn hearts and minds to see the value of children not marrying.

Almighty God, we cry out to You on behalf of all children who, for whatever reason, have to work. It saddens us, and we know Your heart grieves more than ours. Please protect the children from danger, and help them get connected to opportunities to learn and grow so they can have stronger futures.
