Singing in the Night

Scripture Reading

Acts 16:25

About midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the prisoners were listening to them.
Reflection
Paul and Silas were in prison, feet in stocks, having been beaten. And they sang. This is not denial of suffering — it is the refusal to let suffering have the last word. Their worship in the darkness was so powerful it opened prison doors. Whatever midnight you are sitting in, singing is still an option.
Prayer for Today
Gracious God by the power of your Spirit inspire us to diligence in our work of faith, selflessness and humility in our labor of love, and grant us a sense of unwavering hope in our Lord Jesus Christ that sustains us in all the trials and triumphs of life. In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.

Amen.
