Scripture Reading
Leviticus 19:1-2
And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying, "Speak to all the congregation of the people of Israel and say to them, You shall be holy, for I the Lord your God am holy."
Reflection
Holiness is not an abstract ideal but a calling rooted in the nature of God himself. To be holy is to be set apart — consecrated, oriented toward God rather than the world's appetites. On this Lenten Friday, abstinence and sacrifice are small acts of saying, "I belong to you, Lord." Even small disciplines, offered faithfully, become training in holiness.
Prayer for Today
Father, they desire to be fully obedient to Your Spirit.
Please forgive them for ever holding up or resisting the leading of the Holy Spirit because they chose not to obey Him.
The last thing they want to do is hinder You Lord. They do not want to hurt You nor oppose the direction of the Spirit.
No, they do not want to upset or grieve Your Holy Spirit. They want to be one of those who is easy to instruct and to guide.
Together in agreement we ask You in Jesus Name to help them to be quick to obey Him when He asks them to do or not do something.
Right here and now, they are making a solid decision to be fiercely obedient to You.
