Let It Be to Me According to Your Word

Scripture Reading

Luke 1:38

And Mary said, "Behold, I am the servant of the Lord; let it be to me according to your word." And the angel departed from her.
Reflection
Mary's fiat — her "yes" — is the hinge on which salvation turns. With a single act of surrender, she opened the way for the Word to become flesh. Her response to Gabriel models the Lenten posture: hearing God's word, laying down our own plans, and saying yes even when we do not fully understand. Lent calls us to our own annunciation — a moment of consent to whatever God is asking of us, however surprising the invitation.
Prayer for Today
Prayer: Lord, thank You that I can bring my specific requests to You and trust that You hear and answer them in Your perfect wisdom and timing. Thank You for Eliezer's example of obedient faith. May I, too, pray and live confidently in the knowledge of Your provision and love. I pray in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Amen.
