Scripture Reading
2 Corinthians 5:17
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.
Reflection
Paul's declaration rings with Easter in advance. The old life — all its patterns of sin, its hardened habits, its weariness — is not merely patched but replaced. To be in Christ is to be a new creation, as genuinely new as the world was on the first day. Lent is the furnace of that re-creation: we submit to the stripping away of the old so the new can emerge. Easter's dawn is already breaking inside the darkness.
Prayer for Today
Lord, how I long to break free from negative thinking and embrace peace and joy and optimism. I invite You to begin transforming my thought patterns and help me recognize, reject and replace thoughts that are not pleasing to You.
In Jesus' Name, Amen.
