Father, Forgive Them

Scripture Reading

Luke 23:33-34

And when they came to the place that is called The Skull, there they crucified him, and the criminals, one on his right and one on his left. And Jesus said, "Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do." And they cast lots to divide his garments.
Reflection
From the cross, Jesus did not call down judgment but prayed forgiveness. This is the mercy at the center of Lent — not earned, not deserved, but freely poured out even over those who drove the nails. On this Lenten Friday, we stand beneath that prayer and hear our own names in it. We too have not always known what we were doing. We too are forgiven.
Prayer for Today
Father, let your favour make me be at the right place at the right time in the name of Jesus.

Amen.
