Scripture Reading

Jeremiah 17:7-8

"Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, whose trust is the Lord. He is like a tree planted by water, that sends out its roots by the stream, and does not fear when heat comes, for its leaves remain green, and is not anxious in the year of drought, for it does not cease to bear fruit."
Reflection
The desert of Lent tests where our roots run. When we fast, we discover what we truly depend on — and the invitation is to sink roots deeper into the stream of God's grace. The soul that trusts in God is like a tree that bears fruit even in drought, because its source of life is hidden and inexhaustible. Lent is irrigation work for the soul.
Prayer for Today
Jesus, my Savior, You came down to earth to save me and told me to have faith in You. You said that with faith I can even say to the mountain, Go, throw yourself into the sea, and it will be done. My mind knows that if I believe, trust and have faith in You, I will receive whatever I ask for in Your holy name. I believe in You, Jesus. I believe that You are Lord. You are the God Most High. You are the Creator of Heaven and Earth. Erase my doubt, Jesus. Take it all away. Help my unbelief. I deliver myself into Your righteous hands. Amen.

Amen.
