Scripture Reading

Romans 15:12-13

And again, Isaiah says, "The Root of Jesse will spring up, one who will arise to rule over the nations; in him the Gentiles will hope." May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
Reflection
The Root of Jesse stood as a banner — not only for Israel but for all nations. Paul quotes Isaiah to remind the Roman church that Christmas is not ethnic property but universal inheritance. The God of hope fills with joy and peace precisely as we trust; hope is not a feeling we manufacture but a flood the Holy Spirit pours in when we open the door of faith.
Prayer for Today
Lord, how I long to break free from negative thinking and embrace peace and joy and optimism. I invite You to begin transforming my thought patterns and help me recognize, reject and replace thoughts that are not pleasing to You.

In Jesus' Name, Amen.

Amen.
