Scripture Reading
2 Corinthians 1:3-4
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.
Reflection
The comfort God gives is not meant to stop with us — it is designed to flow through us to others. Our suffering, held in the hands of God, becomes a strange kind of credential: we know how to sit with those in pain because we have been sat with. The comfort we have received becomes the very ministry we can offer. As this ordinary season closes and Advent begins, offer yourself as a conduit of God's consolation.
Prayer for Today
Father,
Help me get my focus back on you. I know I need to stop dwelling on my hurts and frustrations. Help me be faithful in prayer and put my hope in you. May the Holy Spirit guide and comfort and strengthen me.
In Jesus' name, Amen.
