Prayer For Unity
Dear God, we ask that you fill us with your Spirit of love and unity among believers all across this nation.
We ask for your help to set aside our differences and look to the greater cause, the cause of Christ. We ask that you would help us to truly live a life of love. We know that this is only possible through the power of your Spirit, so we pray for your Spirit to move across our land in fresh ways. Turn your people back to you. Draw others to come to know you. Thank you that you are always with us to give us great purpose and hope.
We pray for our families, for every relationship most dear to us, that you would guard our time, and our lives together. We ask for your ability to quickly forgive hurts, for a renewed heart of compassion, for love and faithfulness to be evident in every decision and action.
Father, we live in a world that is at enmity with all that is godly and there is much antagonism against the Lord Jesus Christ, and against all that are called Christian and seek to live godly in Him.
Give us a spirit of love, cooperation, togetherness and unity, and help us to consider the needs of the whole body of Christ, knowing that we are aliens in this present world and fellow citizens together, with all the saints of God's household.
Build us up together in a spirit of co-operation and grace we pray, knowing that we are being skilfully fitted together into a holy temple in the Lord. Established as one on the firm foundation of the apostles and prophets, with the Lord Jesus Himself as the chief cornerstone.
Help us to faithfully serve one another in love and to strengthen, encourage and edify each other, so that we may move forward in our service for You, in a spirit of co-operation and unity in all that You have called us to do. In Jesus' name we pray,
Amen.
O God, we are one with you. You have made us one with you.
You have taught us that if we are open to one another, you dwell in us.
Help us to preserve this openness and to fight for it with all our hearts. Help us to realize that
there can be no understanding where there is mutual rejection.
O God, in accepting one another wholeheartedly, fully, completely, we accept you, and we thank
you, and we adore you, and we love you with our whole being, because our being is your being,
our spirit is rooted in your spirit. Fill us then with love, and let us be bound together with love as
we go our diverse ways, united in this one spirit which makes you present in the world, and
which makes you witness to the ultimate reality that is love. Love has overcome. Love is victorious.
O Thou kind Lord! Thou hast created all humanity from the same stock. Thou hast decreed that all shall belong to the same household.
In Thy Holy Presence they are all Thy servants, and all mankind are sheltered beneath Thy Tabernacle; all have gathered together at Thy Table of Bounty; all are illumined through the light of Thy Providence.
O God! Thou art kind to all, Thou hast provided for all, dost shelter all, conferrest life upon all. Thou hast endowed each and all with talents and faculties, and all are submerged in the Ocean of Thy Mercy.
O Thou kind Lord! Unite all. Let the religions agree and make the nations one, so that they may see each other as one family and the whole earth as one home. May they all live together in perfect harmony.
O God! Raise aloft the banner of the oneness of mankind.
O God! Establish the Most Great Peace. Cement Thou, O God, the hearts together.
O Thou kind Father, God! Gladden our hearts through the fragrance of Thy love. Brighten our eyes through the Light of Thy Guidance. Delight our ears with the melody of Thy Word, and shelter us all in the Stronghold of Thy Providence.
Thou art the Mighty and Powerful, Thou art the Forgiving and Thou art the One Who overlooketh the shortcomings of all mankind.
Amen.
Dear God, We know that you are with us and you fight for your people. We believe that it's not by might, nor by power, but by your Spirit, that you make a difference in our world.
We are needy for you. Some days feel so broken and uncertain. We're hurting, we're struggling, and we're aware, more than ever, of our own weaknesses, and of the dark forces that constantly surround us, fighting to gain ground in our lives and families. We choose to stand our ground today and say, no more.
O God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, our only Saviour, the Prince of Peace: Give us grace seriously to
lay to heart the great dangers we are in by our unhappy divisions. Take away all hatred and prejudice, and
whatsoever else may hinder us from godly union and concord: that, as there is but one Body, and one Spirit,
and one hope of our calling, one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of us all; so we may
henceforth be all of one heart, and of one soul, united in one holy bond of truth and peace, of faith and
charity, and with one mind and one mouth glorify thee; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen
Give us a blessing so that our words and actions be one in unity,
and that we be able to listen to each other, in so doing,
we shall with good heart walk hand in hand to face the future.
In the presence of the outside, we are thankful for many blessings.
I make my prayer for all people, the children, the women and the men.
I pray that no harm will come to them,
and that on the great islandm there be no war,
that there be no ill feelings among us.
From this day on may we walk hand in hand.
So be it.
One only Holy Spirit of Father and son
in whom all are baptized,
one giver of many gifts,
one tree of many fruits
one speaker of every tongue, renew in our day
the wonders of Pentecost,
grant that people of every race and nation
may understand one another, and as one, proclaim
the praises of God.
Grant that all may be one
as you, Spirit, with the Father and the Son
are one God, one Lord.
Grant unity to the Body of Christ;
grant unity to the human family.
Sole breath of every living thing,
may all be one who, in you,
live and move and have their being.
