Prayer For Today Wednesday
Lord God,
You are with us in the day and the night.
You are with us when we're happy and when we're sad.
You are with us when we're healthy and when we are ill.
You are with us when we are peaceful and when we are worried.
Today, however, we are feeling, we affirm that you are with us.
Help us to remember that you love us and are with us in everything today. Amen
Lord, may nothing separate me from You today. Teach me how to choose only Your way today so each step will lead me closer to You. Help me walk by the Word and not my feelings. Help me to keep my heart pure and undivided. Protect me from my own careless thoughts, words, and actions. And keep me from being distracted by MY wants, MY desires, MY thoughts on how things should be. Help me to embrace what comes my way as an opportunity... rather than a personal inconvenience. And finally, help me to rest in the truth of Psalm 86:13, 'Great is your love toward me.' You already see the ways I will fall short and mess up. But right now, I consciously tuck Your whisper of absolute love for me into the deepest part of my heart. I recognize Your love for me is not based on my performance. You love me warts and all. That's amazing. But what's most amazing is that the Savior of the world would desire a few minutes with me this morning. Lord, help me to forever remember what a gift it is to sit with You like this. Amen.
Lord, teach us the beauty of resting in You. Teach us what holy rest truly looks like. Beyond just sleep or lounging, we know that resting securely in You forms a peace that goes beyond understanding and provides a true refreshment, and so we pray this day for Your holy rest upon us. Amen
Father God,
Thank You for this Wednesday. Father, we are all guilty of looking so far ahead into the future that we forget to slow down and just be still in Your presence. Lord, help us to not merely try and rush through this Wednesday; rather, help us to linger in You. Amen
O God, whose blessed Son made himself known to his disciples in the breaking of bread: Open the eyes of our faith, that we may behold him in all his redeeming work; who lives and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen.
O God, who from the family of your servant David raised up Joseph to be the guardian of your incarnate Son and the spouse of his virgin mother: Give us grace to imitate his uprightness of life and his obedience to your commands; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.
Lord, you have a plan for me, for my life. Help me to keep the faith and walk steadfastly in the ways that you lead me. Guide my thoughts today in the midst of this week, and even as the week progresses, may I always take time to commune with you and praise your name. Amen
Oh Heavenly Father, this blessed Wednesday is the day You have made. I will rejoice and be glad in it. I give you all the praise you for the gift of another blessed day. Your steadfast love never ceases. Your mercies never come to an end. They are new every morning. Amen
