Prayer For Teachers
All-Knowing God, thank you that you possess infinite riches of wisdom, goodness and power. You have said that if I accept your words, turn my ear to wisdom and apply my heart to understanding, then I will find the wisdom and knowledge of God. Remind me as I study, that everything I have is a gift from you. May the peace of God reign in my life, the love of God surround me, the Spirit of God empower me and the joy of God uphold me. In the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, Amen.
O Lord my God, thank you that you are the source of all true joy in life. Help me to teach others well. Guide my thoughts, words and actions to enable me to carry out this important work that you have placed before me. Increase my faith that anything is possible in your power. Let the majesty of the Father be the light that guides me, the compassion of the Son be the love that inspires me and the presence of the Spirit be the power that empowers me. In the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, Amen.
Merciful God, thank you that I am never alone, your presence calms the troubled sea of my life and speaks peace to my soul. When I am filled with anxiety and uncertainty about my studies, would you calm my fears and fill my mind with your peace. Give me assurance that you are working everything for my good and your glory. May your love be the passion in my heart. May your joy be my strength when times are hard. May your presence be my peace that overflows. In the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, Amen.
Lord, my Rock and Redeemer thank you that you have plans for me that are for my good and your glory. In everything I do may I set an example for others by doing what is good. In my teaching may I work with integrity, seriousness and soundness of speech that cannot be condemned. Give me the strength I need to represent you as I teach. May the peace of God enfold me, the love of God uphold me and the wisdom of God control me. In the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, Amen.
God of the Universe thank you that you are perfectly faithful; you never forget, never fail and never take back a promise. You have promised that you will give wisdom to anyone who asks. Hear my prayer for wisdom and fill me with your love and your understanding. Help me to study by giving me a clear mind and a calm heart. May your peace be in my heart, your grace be in my words, your love be in my hands and your joy be in my soul. In the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, Amen.
Creator God, thank you that you are the light of the world, guiding my steps on your path. Help me to recognize every student I teach as your precious child. May you guide me into the most helpful words and actions with your wisdom. Hear my prayer Lord, and help me to teach effectively. May you, the God of all grace, who has called me into eternal glory by Christ Jesus, make me holy, strong and filled with peace. To you be glory and honor, forever and ever. In the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, Amen.
Help me to be a fine teacher, to keep peace in the classroom, peace between my students and myself, to be kind and gentle to each and every one of my students. Help me to be merciful to my students, to balance mercy and discipline in the right measure for each student, to give genuine praise as much as possible, to give constructive criticism in a manner that is palatable to my students. Help me to remain conscientious enough to keep my lessons always interesting, to recognize what motivates each of my students, to accept my students' limitations and not hold it against them. Help me not to judge my students too harshly, to be fair to all, to be a good role model, but most of all Lord help me to show your love to all of my students.

Dear God,
Grant our teachers an abundance of Your wisdom. Prepare their hearts to welcome and love our loved ones, and may we make sure to show them love and respect in return. Give them grace as they help students who aren't thriving, courage to say what needs to be said, tools and knowledge on how and when to speak love, and strength when they feel weak. When they feel unseen, remind them that no moment goes unnoticed. They are shaping the future in one million small - yet incredibly important - ways every day. We are overwhelmed with gratitude for the gift of learning they share with our children. Bless them, Lord, and may they see even just a glimpse of how their faithfulness will forever impact generations to come.
