Prayer For Strong Faith In God

Breathe in me O Holy Spirit, that my thoughts may all be holy. Act in me O Holy Spirit, that my work, too, may be holy. Draw my heart O Holy Spirit, that I love but what is holy. Strengthen me O Holy Spirit, to defend all that is holy. Guard me, then, O Holy Spirit, that I always may be holy.

Amen.

Gracious God, only source of life and health: Help, comfort, and relieve me, and give your power of healing to those who minister to my needs; that my weakness may be turned to strength and confidence in your loving care; for the sake of Jesus Christ.

Amen.

Dear God,

I am sick and tired of being sick and tired. I reach forward today, touch the hem of Your garment, and receive my healing. Yes, I want to get well. Give me the faith to walk in freedom and victory.

In Jesus' Name, Amen.

Oh blessed Lord,

I want to praise, honor and glorify you, but my faith is weak.

Help me please, strengthen my faith. Let me give myself up to you.

Teach me, oh Lord, how to love you more, how to love myself more, and how to love others even when it hurts.

Let my faith grow strong in obedience to your teaching to love, serve and forgive.

Reveal to my heart this most excellent way.

I can't do it alone. May your Spirit to work in me according to your will.

For there I find meaning, there I find feeding for my hungry soul.

I ask in Jesus name,

Amen.

How we thank You Father, for the many and varied examples of men and women who successfully entered the race of life and completed the course that was laid out for their life, in the power of the Holy Spirit. Thank You for the great cloud of witnesses in the Word of God and throughout the ages who have finished their journey through life, having run the race that was set before them, looking to Jesus the author and finisher of their faith.

May we remain steadfast to the end of our lives and live the way that You would have us to live, knowing that we are fashioned in Your image and likeness and born again as a new creation in Christ. Help us to "keep on keeping on" unto our life's end, no matter what struggles and difficulties may ensue.

When we stumble we ask Lord, that You would be there to pick us up.

When sadness strikes at our hearts, that You would be there to comfort and calm.

When clouds of doubt blacken the perspective of our hearts may the sunshine of Your love break through and reveal Your every smiling face of love.

When through disobedience or disinterest we stray from the path of righteousness, You would lead us through the valley of humility and gently lead us back into the way of truth.

Thank You, Lord, that You have promised to finish the good work that You have started in each of our lives. May we therefore arrive at the finishing post having steadfastly run the race that You set before us. May we all hear Your precious words from Jesus,"well done good and faithful servant," in Whose name we pray,

Amen.

Father, as we recall the steadfast faith and hope in God that so many of the great cloud of witnesses displayed in Hebrews chapter eleven and elsewhere, we pray that we too may follow their example and place our entire faith in Your precious Word. May we develop an ever deepening trust in You, knowing that Your Word is faithful and true. May we be nourished by the Word of God day by day and be refreshed with rivers of living water that stream into our hearts from above, so that whatsoever we do will be pleasing to the Lord and glorify His name.

Thank You that in Christ, we have been forgiven of all our sins and delivered from the power of sin in our lives. May we pass on a trust in the Lord Jesus to our children and children's children, so that in the next generations a living trust in God may be their witness to the world and faith in His Word may be a testimony that will also pass on to all their children.

Keep us standing firm in truth of God's Word that has been delivered to us by our Father in heaven, and keep us steadfast and true to all that we have learned of Your grace and mercy. May our lives demonstrate an ever deepening love for You, until that glorious day when we are taken to be with You in heaven. This we pray in Jesus' name,

Amen.

Heavenly Father, help us to develop a trust and faith in You that reflects the simplicity of childlike faith that so rejoices Your heart, and which is so evident in the lives of little children, and yet which seems to evaporate into a vapour as soon as we reach the age of maturity. May we develop a wonder and an amazement at the glorious redemption story, and a deep humility as we approach Your thrice-holy, throne of grace to ask for help in time of need.

Forgive us for losing so much of the wonder of the beautiful incarnation, and for becoming complacent about the death and resurrection of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Renew in us a deep reverence for Your holy name, as befits our great and glorious Creator God, Who loved us so much that He sent His only begotten Son to die for our sins, so that whosever believes on Him would not perish but have everlasting life.

Help us in the days that lie ahead to examine our hearts, and to see if we too have become lukewarm towards the things of God. Renew in us a childlike spirit of awe and wonder, so that once again we may marvel at the wonder of Who You truly are. And draw us ever closer into deeper intimacy with Yourself. This we ask in the precious name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ,

Amen.

Thank You, Father, that You have promised that the testing of our faith produces perseverance and steadfastness, which in time will bring forth the beautiful Christlike character that You so desire in all Your children, but which all too often I personally seek to avoid, or regard as a time of bitter struggle. Help me Lord, to embrace any trials that You see fit to enter my life. Help me to look at the difficulties that engulf me with Your eyes, and give me an eternal perspective on all the problems I may be called upon to face, so that I may count it all joy when I am confronted with various trials, knowing that the testing of my faith produces the godly fruit of patience. Help me Lord, to use those times of testing as an opportunity to grow in grace, and as a springboard to develop a deeper and more secure relationship with You.

Lord, it is not alway easy to align our minds with the mind of Christ. It is often very hard to see trials in a positive light, and to embrace the various testings we have to go through as a thing to be highly prized, and yet Your Word tells us that life's difficulties sharpen our faith, while developing our trust in the Lord, which is more precious to You than much fine gold. Give me a heart that understands and chooses to look at trials and tests from Your perspective, so that the testing of my faith may bring forth the righteous fruit or patience and grace. I ask this in the name of Jesus,

Amen.
