Prayer For Soldiers Deploying

Above all, bless these men and women with a holy blessing that will sustain them in the face of whatever may come. Bless as well our nation, its leaders and its military services that truth, justice, and liberty may prevail and prosper by your aid. For you are the God of blessings and providence, the Source of all good, the Sustainer of our lives, and to you belongs all praise and glory, through your Son Jesus Christ, now and forever.

Guard and protect them from evil and the ways of darkness that threaten us. Send your holy angels to have charge over them and bear them up. Bring to us all the victory of light over darkness as you are the God of light and love.

Dear God, Please be with the men and women in uniform, who bravely serve our communities and nation every single day. We ask that you cover them with your protection, that you would be their guiding force who leads the way, and their rear guard who keeps them safe from behind. We ask that you would draw them to yourself amidst the dangers they face in a dark world, for you are the Truth, you are the Way, you are the Light.

When the voice of hate rises up against them, we ask that you would silence it. When the plans of the enemy rise up to cause them to stumble, we ask that you would thwart it. When the forces of evil rise up to strike them down, we ask that you would stop it. Lord, we know how powerful you are, all have heard of your Great Name, and we ask that you would indeed be the wind beneath their wings, the power behind their efforts, the heart behind their service, as they are on the front lines against evil in our world today.

Help them to walk wisely. To stay covered in your armor. Give them godly discernment. Make them constantly aware of what lurks close by. Help them to be men and women of prayer, realizing that this is where their greatest help comes from. Help them to stay united and strong, bold and resolute, determined and unwavering.

Lord bless all those who wear the uniform, who serve our cities, our nation, our people. Bless their families. Bless those they love. Give them your great favor, this day, and every day. And thank you that as believers, we can be assured, you never leave us, and you are with us always, in this life, and the next. In the Powerful and Present Name of Jesus, Amen.

Father, thank you for the privilege of praying for our service men and women. Like Aaron and Hur held up Moses' arms when he grew weary in battle, we, too, can support those we love and appreciate.

Some serve far from home. We may not even know where they are, but you do. If they're in harm's way, protect them. Surround them with your angels like you surrounded Elijah and the children of Israel with your fiery hosts. Shield them from those who seek to do them harm. Thwart the plans of the enemy.

Some are spiritually far away from you. Maybe the horrors they've witnessed have caused them to question your love, care, or even existence. Reveal yourself to them in a personal, mighty way. Like Saul on the road to Damascus, help them come face to face with the risen Christ and commit their lives to follow you. Remove whatever stumbling block that keeps them from wholeheartedly surrendering to you.

For those who already have a relationship with you, strengthen their resolve to honor you with their lives. Connect them with other believers. Draw them to your Word every day. Answer their prayers. Use them as a beacon of hope in this dark world. Expand their witness and draw many around them into a saving knowledge of you because of the way they live. Give them courage to speak the truth unapologetically and stand for what is right, even when it costs them. Enable them to sacrificially serve others. Glorify yourself through them.

Dear Lord,

I'm praying for all those who have a loved one on deployment around the globe. I know this time of year can be a challenge, even if the deployment isn't necessarily in a war zone. Being separated from those we care about is always hard.

I'm asking that you give these families a special peace this holiday season. Give them lots of opportunities to spend time in communication with their loved onesthrough whatever means available. Thank you for all the different ways we have now to communicate around the world. Make sure packages and letter arrive in a timely fashion. Keep the digital and telephone lines clear and free from static.

Fill the days with activities to take their minds from the emptiness they feel. Surround them with friends and family who understand their struggles and can support them in ways that provide just what they need. Put people in their lives to be Your hands and feet during this stressful holiday season.

Remind them of the blessings that still surround them. Don't let them withdraw. Instead help them to take part in the joy of this season.

Most of all, give them tangible proof that You are there with them and with their loved one. Remind them of Your great love and all the ways You watch over the entire family, those at home and deployed.

Amen.

Lord and Holy Protector, you called Abraham and Sarah to leave their homeland and to journey away from their own people.Yet you kept them safe wherever they went.Protect your children and our friend and loved one who must now leave to fight in this war. Walk by his side and calm any fear. Be his companion and guide his thoughts. Encircle him with your light and keep him from harm. And when his service is ended, lead him safely home again. For you, O God, are our shelter in every storm and our refuge in times of danger. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Father God, We pray for all those who faithfully serve to keep, protect and preserve justice, hope and love. May you encircle them with protection, and post angels to watch over your sons and daughters as they face danger. We pray that they would have great wisdom and judgement. Help them to work as a team, and care for each other. Lord, come lead them in their prayers and answer them clearly, that they might be channels for your peace, ambassadors of justice, and bringers of hope. May you guard their hearts with you love, their minds with your truth and their bodies with your power. We ask all this in the wonderful name of Jesus. Amen.

Almighty God, we commend to your gracious care and keeping all the men and women of our armed forces at home and abroad. Defend them day by day with your heavenly grace; strengthen them in their trials and temptations; give them courage to face the perils which beset them; and grant them a sense of your abiding presence wherever they may be; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
