Prayer For Small Child
Father in heaven,
Thank you for family - watch over my loved ones
Thank you for play - help me to be happy and free
Thank you for my school - teach me to listen and learn
Thank you for food and rest - you give us lovely food and peaceful sleep
Thank you for all these wonderful things,
Amen
Help them speak the truth to others and to themselves
Lord, I pray that You will remind my children daily that Your love for them is everlasting
Strength and wholeness. I shall run and not be weary. I shall walk and not faintCome Gracious Spirit, Heavenly Dove,
With light and comfort from above.
Be Thou our Guardian, Thou our Guide,
Stay close by every child's side. Amen!
Lord God, we praise you that you are fully in control of all things. I pray you would protect my child. Keep them healthy and help them to thrive. I thank you that you know every hair on their head. You know exactly when they rise and when they fall. Watch over my child in every area of their life and keep them safe I pray, Amen.
Father God, we ask for your blessing today as we pray these prayers over our children. We praise you that every day we can trust in your goodness. Amen
God of Protection, I thank You for Your hand upon my child's life. You created my child. My child belongs to You. When my child passes through the waters, You will be with him/her, and the rivers will not overwhelm my child. When my child walks through the fire, they will not be burned, and the flame will not consume him/her. For You are Lord our God, the Holy One of Israel, our Savior. You are our Divine Protector, I place my child's life in Your hands. Amen.
Dear God,
We praise you for your love and faithfulness. We thank you for your protection and care over our families. Thank you that you give us the power to love well; the wisdom to lead and teach our children. We know you're for us; that you fight for our families today. You are Redeemer, Restorer, and Friend, we believe you have good in store. We confess, some days, parenting is tough. Many days we can feel anxious or overwhelmed. We ask that you would make us more like you, more aware of your constant Presence in our lives. Help us to release our children to You, so that You are free to fully accomplish all that You desire, in them, through them. Please fill our families with your truth and cover us with your favor.
