Prayer For Sleep
In the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen.
Glory to you, our God, glory to you. Heavenly King, Comforter, the Spirit of truth, who are present everywhere filling all things, Treasury of good things and Giver of life, come and dwell in us. Cleanse us of every stain, and save our souls, gracious Lord.
Holy God, Holy and Mighty, Holy Immortal, have mercy on us (3).
Glory to the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, now and forever and to the ages of ages. Amen.
All holy Trinity, have mercy on us. Lord, forgive our sins. Master, pardon our transgressions. Holy One, visit and heal our infirmities for your name?s sake.

Our Father, who are in heaven, hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. O Creator,
O One who loved me into being
Now that the voices are silenced
and the crowded world of projects
and overwhelming noise is hushed,
here, at my bed, I seek your consolation.
My spirit roots for you, as an infant
seeks out the breast,
seeks you as a child seeks
the succor and embrace of a father
the parent who will whisper,
Shh, I am with you,
and bring solace to the soul
with an unconditional love.
I believe in your love,
and I hope in you,
and I pray you will grace me
with the gift of faith, unfailing,
the gift of wisdom, beyond my instincts,
the gift of trust, which is so hard.
I give glory and thanks to you
for this day as it ends,
and beg that you will give me eyes to see
that in all things, you have been with me:
in what was difficult, and what was easy,
in what was anxious and what was peaceful.
In those times I sought you out,
or forgot to,
You were with me, still, and I thank you.
Today, I failed in love; you know this.
I beg you to forgive me.
Today, I lost my temper; you know this.
I beg you to forgive me.
Today, I was selfish; you know this.
I beg you to forgive me.
Today, I felt desolate, unsure, and afraid;
I beg you to reach me, and to teach me again
that you love me, and are near.
That you are, O God, the safest of safe places,
the wayside resting place,
where I may catch my breath,
and seek you out, before going on.
Before I rest tonight,
I must thank you for your love,
beg your pardon for my failings,
and your shelter
from my interior storms.
O my Lord, at this moment, all is calm,
and sleep beckons me.
It is your world!
I place all of my concerns into your hands,
and all of my fears into your Sacred Heart,
the Self-immolating gift that is never consumed.
I believe in you.
Although I cannot understand
all that is before me,
I know all things work toward
the purposes of your mysterious plans
for my own good.
And I trust in this.
And I beg for the gift and grace
to trust you even further,
day by day.
I ask this in the name of Christ Jesus,
seeking the prayers of Mary, his Mother,
and of my guardian angel and patron saint (Name).
I will lie down in peace and sleep comes at once
for you alone, Lord, make me dwell in safety. (Psalm 4:9)

Oh Heavenly Father, as I lay my head down to sleep, I ask for your comfort and strength. Ease my mind. Help me to let everything go, and leave it all in your hands. Give me peace that I may sleep without tossing and turning.
Encamp your angels around me, that no harm will come to me or my household. I cover each and every member of my household in the blood of Jesus.
Almighty God, bless my night, and bless the coming day. I'm so tired and anxious, burdened by the cares of the day.
Lay your hand upon me and quiet my restless soul. Cradle me in your protective arms, dear Lord. Give me rest that tomorrow will be a very productive day.
Heavenly Father, I pray that as I go to bed tonight that You would give me a peaceful nights sleep and help me to wake refreshed, ready and willing to do Your will.
Thank You, that You have given us this blessed time when our bodies and souls have an opportunity to be renewed, revived and revitalised. Keep me throughout the night-time hours under Your protection, and may the angel of Your presence encamp around me tonight, for I love and trust You to keep me from all evil.
Grant me Your perfect peace in my heart, and give me such a knowledge of Your closeness Lord, that I may rest securely, sleep soundly and sense that blessed assurance of Your love and grace surrounding me. This I ask in Jesus' name,

Dear Lord, You were the one that made the moon and the stars to shine by night and gave us the beautiful hours of the night in which to replenish our strength, repair our bodies and refresh our souls.
Help me I pray, to take advantage of this God-given time, when the weariness of the day gives way to a peaceful night's sleep and the general renewal of our of minds.
Help me I pray, to get to bed at a wise time and not to retire to bed too late. Help me to use this time to full advantage and not to sit up into the small hours of the morning, but gain full benefit of a complete nights rest, so that I may wake refreshed and get up early, to Your praise and glory.
Help me I pray to get to bed at a good time. This I ask in Jesus' name,

Dear God,
Thank you for the blessing of this day and your goodness in it, we're grateful for the gift of life. Thank you for all that you've allowed into our lives these past hours, the good along with the hard things, which have reminded us how much we need you
and rely on your presence filling us every single day. Thank you for your great love and care. Thank you for your mercy and grace. Thank you that you are always with us and will never leave us.
We ask for your huge peace to surround us tonight, all of us who feel restless and worried right now, those who have been carrying big burdens and shouldering stress. Help us to lay it down before you, again, even though
we're struggling to really let go. Remind us that you can carry it so much better than we ever could. May your power and your rest fill us fresh. May the presence of your Spirit breathe hope deep into our souls, even as
we sleep.
We give you every care, and every anxious thought.
We choose to find rest in you. We choose faith over fear. Thank you that you are our refuge and strength, a very present help in times of uncertainty or trouble. Thank you for your promise that it's your peace that
will guard and protect our hearts and minds in Christ, as we pray about all that concerns us.
Lord we confess to you that sometimes our worries seem too big, we don't see a way out of our current circumstances, and we can't understand what you're doing. But we know that you see the big picture and thank you
that you are with us in it all. Help us to trust you more. Thank you for your reminders that you are surely with us. Thank you that through every weakness and hard place, your strength is displayed in our lives. We can't
do it on our own. But you can work miracles, in us, through us.
Forgive us God for the times we missed the mark today.
Forgive us for the times we tried to do things all in our own strength, getting too easily distracted, or forgetting our need for you. Forgive us for letting fear and impatience control us, or for allowing pride and
selfishness to dictate our choices. Forgive us for not following your ways or for living distant from your presence. Cleanse our hearts and renew our minds in you, as we lay it all to rest.
We ask that you would provide for our needs, even as we sleep. We pray for your huge grace and favor. We thank you that you never sleep or slumber, that you're always at work, even in the dark of night, even behind
the scenes where we can't fully see. We pray for your blessings to cover us, that you would make every plan you've birthed in our hearts to succeed at just the right time. We pray that you'd be opening doors, clearing pathways,
closing the wrong roads, and setting up our way for tomorrow.
We pray for your protection over our family and all those we love.

We ask for your hand to cover us and keep us distanced from the evil intent of the enemy; that you'd be a barrier to surround us, and we'd be safe in your hands. We pray for your healing and huge grace to encircle us
in every need, and for your comfort to cover us when we feel deep loss. We ask for your angels of protection to surround our families through the night.
Help us to be alert to your spirit, that our hearts would be eager to hear your voice as we awaken. We pray you'd make us strong and courageous for the road ahead. Help us to feel refreshed deep down in our souls, and
to be faithful to walk in the wisdom of your word. Give us a desire for more of your presence. Help us to remember to rely fully on you, fixing our eyes on Jesus. We ask for your words of truth and power to strengthen us
in our inner being.
Thank you for your goodness, thank you that you know the way we take and that you have a plan.
We love you Lord, we need you, and we thank you we can rest in your perfect care.

Dear God,
We're in need of your peace and truth to soothe our hearts and spirits right now. When we find ourselves awake in the middle of the night, the pressing needs and worries we're facing can feel so overwhelming. We ask
for your Mighty Power to surround us. Thank you that you have set us free and you're far greater than anything we face in this life. We lay our burdens before you, every single one, and we know that they're much safer in
your hands than our own. We surrender to you every anxious thought. We choose to find rest in you. We choose faith over fear. Thank you that you are our refuge and strength, a very present help in times of uncertainty or
trouble.
We confess to you Lord, that sometimes our worries seem too big, we don't see a way out of our current situation, and we can't understand what you're doing. But we know that you see the big picture and thank you that
you are with us in it all. Help us to trust you more. Thank you for your reminders that you are faithful and sure. Thank you that through every weakness and hard place, your strength is displayed in our lives. We just can't
do it on our own. We're weary, we're hurting. But you can work miracles, in us, and through us. We know that you will turn this circumstance around for good somehow. We believe that you are fully able to bring us through
this storm to the other side of the troubles we've faced, into a new season of healing and light. We choose to hope in you.
Thank you for your promise that it's your peace alone that will guard and protect our hearts and minds in Christ, as we pray about all that concerns us. In the dark, in the quiet, at these times we feel so alone, would
you please refresh and renew our spirits in you again. Lord we know that your word reminds us over and over that we never have to be afraid. We know that you are close and your protection and presence are powerful. We thank
you for your covering and reminders that you have stationed your angels around us to guard us in all our ways. Thank you that you never sleep or slumber, for you are constantly watching over us, always aware, and we are
safe and secure in you.
We pray for your blessings to surround us, that you would make every plan you've birthed in our hearts to succeed at just the right time. We pray that you would be opening doors, clearing pathways, closing the wrong
roads, and setting up our way for tomorrow.
We love you Lord, and we thank you for your peace and presence in our lives. Thank you that you promise to go before us, that you're covering us from behind, and you're fighting our battles for us, even as we sleep.
