Prayer For Schools
Lord, we bring before You all the children in our schools and especially those that are vulnerable, those who are being abused or bullied and those who are finding it difficult to settle in their classes, or perhaps are finding themselves isolated for whatever reason.
Lord, You know each child and You know the needs and vulnerabilities of each one, and You also know the answers to each of their problems. Look down with pity on today's children who are having to grow up in an increasingly godless society, where every semblance of truth and godliness is being systematically attacked with a relative agenda that denies the absolutes of God.
Protect the hearts and minds of these vulnerable members of our society, and meet each one at their own particular point of need we pray. Bring good friends and compassionate staff into the lives of all children that are finding the requirements of today's schools difficult to cope with or whose innocent spirit is being crushed.
And more than anything else, we pray that You would reveal Yourself to each and every vulnerable child. Teach them Your ways and bring each one into a personal knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ. Give each one a true understanding that they may know that they are loved by their Father in heaven and forgiven of any sin. May each one bud, blossom and flower as they come to know and accept You as their Saviour, and give them a deep sense of Your peace and love. In Jesus' name we pray,
Amen.
Lord, we thank You for those schools that desire to educate the children of our day and age in godly principles and sound biblical doctrine, and we ask that You would bless and protect them and the many Christian school children that attend their schools and colleges. Thank You, that such institutions of learning are still permitted to function unimpeded in our country, in this increasingly godless society. Protect them as they teach and train the children of today in Scriptural truths, knowing that they will be the teachers of tomorrow.
Lord, we pray that You would bless the teachers, the children and those that oversee the curriculum that they are using. May it remain true to the truth of Scripture. Set in authority godly men and women who are prepared and willing to stand for the truth and who themselves are grounded in the Word of God.
Lord, we pray that Your Holy Spirit would lead and guide in all things and that not only the children but the staff and administrators also would grow in grace and in a knowledge of the Lord Jesus, so that they are able and willing to stand firm against the wiles of the enemy, who would seek to destroy or taint the truth of God.
Guard, guide and bless we beseech You, every Christian school, and all those that are connected with each one, not only in our own country but throughout the world, and we pray that each one may produce much spiritual fruit as they continue to proclaim the truth and become a witness of Your grace in the ages to come. In Jesus' name we pray,
Amen.
Almighty God and Heavenly Father, we come to You today as a school to offer our school into Your safe-keeping. We pray that You would lead and guide the teaching and administration staff as well as the children whom they teach.
We pray that this school will be a place of safety and learning, a place of encouragement and excellence, a place that supports those that are vulnerable, that defends the weak and the fatherless and uphold those that are poor and oppressed, and cares for the afflicted and needy.
May this also be a place of adventure and great discovery, a place of learning and creativity, and place of mutual support and encouragement. May each pupil that attends our school develop a thirst for learning, a respect for each other and a deep love of the truth. Lord, there is nothing more important for our school than that You are kept in your rightful place, and we pray that in all things You may be magnified and glorified. This we ask in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ,
Amen.
Thank You, Father, for the children and young people in our schools that have come to a saving faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. Lord, we ask that You would lead and guide them during their school days and protect them from the wiles of the enemy who seeks to shipwreck the faith of the children and lure them into atheistic thinking and unbiblical doctrine that deny the truth of the Lord Jesus.
Protect the minds of all Christian children in our schools, and we pray that You would use each one to be a light shining in a dark place and a witness to the goodness and love off God.
Give them courage in school when they are laughed at or mocked, and may they so display the love of Jesus, and His grace of forgiveness, that other children and staff members may be attracted to their faith and come to a knowledge of Jesus Christ through their childhood witness. I pray that each one may be rooted and grounded in Your love so that they are not enticed into worldly thinking during their school days, but rather that their faith in Christ Jesus may become stronger and unshakable as they grow in grace and in a knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ, in Whose name we pray,
Amen.
Dear Lord Jesus, thank You for holiday times when we have freedom to spend quality time with family and friends and to take a break from the daily routine of school and curriculum based work. Thank You for the fun times we have all enjoyed, and now that we are about to start a new term at school, we pray that You would continue to be with us, to help and encourage in all we say and do.
Help us to settle back into the daily routine of school work and give us a heart that desires to learn, a brain that is able to retain what is needful and the ability to dismiss that which is not edifying or necessary for health or wholeness.
Fill our hearts and minds with Your truth and light, and hold us steady in the palm of Your hand as You have promised. Keep us from every sort of danger throughout each day, and may we seek to love You more and serve You better with every passing day. In Jesus' name we pray,
Amen.
Help me to be a fine teacher, to keep peace in the classroom, peace between my students and myself, to be kind and gentle to each and every one of my students. Help me to be merciful to my students, to balance mercy and discipline in the right measure for each student, to give genuine praise as much as possible, to give constructive criticism in a manner that is palatable to my students. Help me to remain conscientious enough to keep my lessons always interesting, to recognize what motivates each of my students, to accept my students' limitations and not hold it against them. Help me not to judge my students too harshly, to be fair to all, to be a good role model, but most of all Lord help me to show your love to all of my students.
Amen.
Dear God,
Grant our teachers an abundance of Your wisdom. Prepare their hearts to welcome and love our loved ones, and may we make sure to show them love and respect in return. Give them grace as they help students who aren't thriving, courage to say what needs to be said, tools and knowledge on how and when to speak love, and strength when they feel weak. When they feel unseen, remind them that no moment goes unnoticed. They are shaping the future in one million small - yet incredibly important - ways every day. We are overwhelmed with gratitude for the gift of learning they share with our children. Bless them, Lord, and may they see even just a glimpse of how their faithfulness will forever impact generations to come.
Amen.
Father, Praise You for the opportunity to be mothers and fathers. You craft each life with importance. Every one equally loved by You, our faithful and loving Father. We know that You have a purpose for each life You draft, and praise You that we get to be a part of that purpose.
Thank You for every day they hop into the car or off the school bus safely returned to us. The joys of parenthood are as abundant as the worries. We worry about our kids, God. School should be a safe place for them to learn, grow, and foster the friendships You designed us to crave. But the world is broken, and school isn't safe. There are lock-down drills that send teachers to dark corners to huddle with their students. Bless the teachers that fight back their own fear to risk their lives for our children.
Schools have been attacked. Gunshots have filled hallways and forever changed the way we feel when we say goodbye to our kids each morning. Be with us as we struggle to maintain composure on the days the depth of reality is too much for us to swallow.
God, there is a reason You tell us to have faith like that of a child. They are bursting with curiosity and full of love. Protect their innocence and preserve the spark in their eyes from the darkness of the world. Let them be little lights to their parents and teachers. Allow them to grow and have a fair opportunity to learn.
Father, we confess our worry and our fear to You today. You tell us not to worry, but it is so hard not to cry when we think of what other parents have had to suffer on account of the tragedy we prepare to face everyday. Comfort their hearts in a special way.
Bless our children and keep them safe from physical harm. Protect them from abuse, abduction, child trafficking, and addiction. Guard their hearts from the devil's schemes, and protect their minds from things that are not appropriate for their eyes to see and their ears to hear. Bless them with hearts of compassion for their fellow students and teachers.
May they be kind on the playground and quiet in the hallways. Protect our children from gossip and bullying. May they know and hear Your voice louder than all the others.
Godly friends are important, and we pray today that You bless our children with those friends. May their friendships be innocent and light, and may the be filled with kindness, understanding, and compassionate consideration for one another.
God, it's hard to let go of our kids, and send them out into a world that is so unstable and so volatile. But You are bigger than all of our worries. You are bigger than our worst fears. Send Your Holy Spirit to quicken in our hearts as we seek You in Your Word and pray to You for comfort. Remind us that our children are Your children, and that You love them infinitely more than we do. You love us, and them, so much that You sent Your Son Jesus to die on a cross. In the most cruel way to die, the Savior of the World hung there for us. For all of us. My we always cling to the cross for our hope, and light the path for our children to, as well.
In Jesus Name, Amen.
