Prayer For People In Distress
Merciful God, I am confused, lonely, and sad. I do not feel like talking with people. Emotions drain my strength, leaving me numb and hopeless. Tears well up at unexpected times. What am I to do, O God? I have no control. Give me the strength to bear these bitter tears.
Come to me, all you that are weary and are carrying heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me; for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light. Matthew 11:28-30
For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor rulers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8:38-39
Answer me when I call to you,
my righteous God.
Give me relief from my distress;
have mercy on me and hear my prayer.
In peace I will lie down and sleep,
for you alone, Lord,
make me dwell in safety. Psalm 4:1, 8
Lord Jesus - Reconciler, Peacemaker
And true friend to nations in distress -
You are always the hope and the healer.
We thank you for all you have done and are doing to soften hearts
and turn minds to dreams of peace and talk of peace.
We thank you for every breakthrough that has led to these talks
and we do not take for granted the miracle that brings warring parties to this place. Amen
Heavenly Father, please grant me peace of mind
and calm my troubled heart. My soul is like
a turbulent sea. I can't seem to find my balance
so I stumble and worry constantly. Give me the
strength and clarity of mind to find my purpose
and walk the path you've laid out for me. I trust
your Love God, and know that you will heal this stress.
Just as the sun rises each day against the dark of
night. Please bring me clarity with the light of God.
In your name I pray, Amen.
Almighty and merciful God, in whose hands are our times, look with compassion we pray on your world in distress. Comfort those who suffer, strengthen those who are weary, grant your peace to those whose thoughts are troubled, and embolden your people to be a light of hope throughout the world; for the sake of your Son Jesus Christ, the Savior of the world, who with you and the Holy Spirit lives and reigns, one God, now and forever. Amen.
As the stress of our times exposes the cracks in our lives, cultivate us into a merciful people as you show us mercy and lead us not into temptation, but deliver from all sorts of evil moral failings, the decay of death, and the systemic oppression that flows from the curse. We ask this in the name of the one whose is the kingdom, the power, and the glory forever Jesus the Messiah. Amen.
I pray for a special blessing and covering for people in distress during this time. May they feel your peace surrounding them and their families. May you bring clarity and directions in the midst of decisions being made.
We know we have the victory through you! Thank you Lord. In the name of Jesus we pray these things. Amen.
