Prayer For Our Leaders In Church
Father our leaders shall be called the priests of the Lord. People will speak of them as ministers of God. They shall eat the wealth of the nations. I pray and believe that no weapon that is formed against them shall prosper and that any tongue that rises against them in judgment shall be shown to be in the wrong. I pray that You will prosper them abundantly Lord, physically, spiritually and financially. (Isa 61:1,6; Isa 54:17)
Father, in the name of Jesus, I pray that the Spirit of the Lord, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might and the spirit of knowledge shall rest upon our Pastors and all of the leadership of Victory churches. I pray that as Your Spirit rests upon them that You will make them of quick understanding because You, Lord, have anointed and qualified them to preach the Gospel to the meek, the poor, the wealthy and the afflicted. You have sent them to bind up and heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the physical and spiritual captives and the opening of the prison and of the eyes to those who are bound. (Isa 11:2,3)
But I am only a little child and do not know how to carry out my duties. Your servant is here among the people you have chosen, a great people, too numerous to count or number. So give your servant a discerning heart to govern your people and to distinguish between right and wrong. For who is able to govern this great people of yours?
I pray for all in authority over us that you would give them the grace and strength to stand against the temptation to use power as a weapon but rather to carry it reverently as one would a child. I pray for the spiritual leaders of our country that they would hear your voice and know your heart. I pray that they would lead from their knees and by that simple grace bring each one of us to our knees before your throne. Have mercy on our nation Lord, In Jesus name, Amen
We thank you for choosing us and making us royal priests. We praise you for giving us citizenship in your holy nation, calling us out of the domain of darkness into your kingdom of lightall through the mercy granted through the blood of Christ.
We long for the day that we will be raised from the dead to live and reign with you in new heaven and earth where righteousness dwells.
Until then, we live as exiles, aliens, displaced people. We walk in fallen flesh, as sojourners in a world that is hostile to our faith.
Give us grace to abstain from the passions of our flesh, which wage war against our souls. Give us humility and courage to live honorable lives amongst people who condemn us without cause. May they see our good deeds and give you glory.
God, I pray that my pastor will make godly decisions & that You will guide him/her to have a shepherd's heart. I pray that he/she will yield to You & always speak the truth boldly with love. I pray that he/she will have the courage needed to speak Your truth & Your ways over difficult & sensitive subjects. I also pray that You will illuminate scripture in his/her heart so that he/she has revelation directly from you. {2 Timothy 4:2, Acts 20:28}
Lord, encourage my pastor through Your Spirit. Let me be a source of encouragement to him/her & let others come alongside him/her to lift him/her up in spirit. Let my pastor see his/her work as eternal & not temporal. Let him/her be refreshed through knowing that Your grace is sufficient for him/her. {Romans 1:11-12, 2 Corinthians 12:9}
Father, we are so grateful to be living in a democracy where many play a part in making sure the needs and desires of the nation's citizens are heard and met. As our leaders work together to find solutions to difficult problems, we ask that You guide them to speak respectfully and with humility to one another. Help them to show Christ-like love to those they interact with and be an advocate for their constituents and others.
