Prayer For Occasion
Gracious God,
in your loving heart there is room for everyone without exception.
Give us courage to be so at home in you that we dare make room for others.
Let your world be a place of delight and homecoming for all creation.
In the midst of great change and social forces that we do not understand, anchor our hearts in you. Save us from a false confidence in our self-sufficiency so that we might be carried by you to new depths of love.
Thank you for feeding our spirits and nurturing our bodies. Thank you for creating us to depend on each other and to live in communities so intricate that we could hardly recognize all that connects us. We pray for peace, wisdom, hope and grace.
We ask this in the name of the one who perfectly loves you, Jesus your son. Amen.
Great creator and mysterious lover of souls, we thank you for the blessings of this season: for the snow falling on the highest peaks of the Sierra, harvest in the great Central Valley, our ancient Redwoods, the first blades of grass we see on the Marin Headlands and the vast Pacific Ocean. Bless the creatures that call these lands and seas home: the whales, otters, coyotes, housecats, migrating birds, and all of us, their human siblings. Amen
As we close this meeting, Lord, we want to give honor to You.
Thank You, God, for the time we had today to discuss issues and make decisions.
May You bless each person who took the time to gather here today and let
Your hand of protection be on them throughout the rest of the week.
Let the work done here tonight come to fruition, and let it all be
for Your glory. Help us each to do our parts to bring the plans discussed to life.

Lord, as we gather today at this meeting we ask that
You will be in our midst. Help us to make decisions that will be
pleasing to You. Help us to be able to discuss the matters at
hand in a reasonable way, and to be willing to give up having our own way.
God let this meeting be productive and, as should be the case
in all areas of our lives, help us to keep You at the forefront of our minds
as we do the work set before us.

Oh Holy Father, thank You for this special occasion and as we are about to partake of this wonderful meal, we pray that we shall eat our food with gladness and drink wine with a joyful heart. Thank You, for approving this day. So Lord as we eat and drink, we abide by Your Word in that whatever we do during this special gathering, we will do it all for the glory of God, Amen.
Oh God our Father, we thank You for who You are and we honor You for Your goodness in our lives. During this event, we bless You for the abundance of food and we pray that this special meal, will nourish and strengthen our bodies as well as our relationship one with another. For You Lord, are the source of our provision and so in everything we give You thanks, Amen.
Lord, in the morning I start each day,
By taking a moment to bow and pray.
I start with thanks, and then give praise
For all your kind and loving ways.
Today if sunshine turns to rain,
If a dark cloud brings some pain,
I won't doubt or hide in fear
For you, my God, are always near.
I will travel where you lead;
I will help my friends in need.
Where you send me I will go;
With your help I'll learn and grow.
Hold my family in your hands,
As we follow your commands.
And I will keep you close in sight
Until I crawl in bed tonight.
