Prayer For National Election
-Father, we appeal to You for our President and Vice President, members of the Cabinet, along with the members of both the House and the Senate, to make decisions that will lead toward a more righteous, peaceful, and orderly America.
Make me more deeply aware of my heritage;
realizing not only my rights
but also my duties
and responsibilities as a citizen.
Make this great land
and all its people
know clearly Your will,
that they may fulfill
the destiny ordained for us
in the salvation of the nations,
and the restoring of all things in Christ.
Lord direct our hearts into realizing and showing the love of God and into steadfastness and patience of Christ and in waiting for His return. Grant us the ability to love in deed, truth, in practice and in sincerity.
Lord, we know that the nations in general and the leaders that You have placed in control are for the most part turning their backs on the true and living Way, and progressing the people in their lands down a path towards Your wrath and their destruction.
Look down in pity on all peoples throughout the nations. Search the hearts of all people we pray, and draw those that are seeking You into a saving knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ.
Pity the people of the nations, and we pray that despite the mounting grief and tragedy in so many places on earth, that Your will be done, and that You would save many people form the jaws of death and destruction by the might of Your power. Lord, You are our God and we trust You. Shall not the God of all the world do right? Yes indeed, praise Your holy name,

Lord, we ask that You would oversee the decisions that are made in high places and especially pray that you would frustrate discussions and decision that are made in secret places, which are outside of Your desires for our nation. Thwart the plans of unscrupulous men and women we pray, and turn them for Your greater good. Look down we pray on all kings, presidents, princes, and those in authority over the nations, may Your will be done, Your kingdom come, to Your praise and Your glory. In Jesus' name,

Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been instituted by God. Therefore whoever resists the authorities resists what God has appointed, and those who resist will incur judgment. For rulers are not a terror to good conduct, but to bad. Would you have no fear of the one who is in authority? Then do what is good, and you will receive his approval, for he is God's servant for your good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for he does not bear the sword in vain. For he is the servant of God, an avenger who carries out God's wrath on the wrongdoer. Therefore one must be in subjection, not only to avoid God's wrath but also for the sake of conscience. ...
I thank You, Lord, for bringing change to the politics of (name the nation). Thank You for changing the voices of influence to speak in agreement with Your Word. I ask You to send laborers filled with the spirit of wisdom and might, to surround the leaders of (name the nation) with godly counsel and insight. I also ask You to remove from positions of authority those who stubbornly oppose righteousness, and replace them with men and women who will follow You and Your appointed course for (name the nation).
Oh God in heaven, I come before You in the Name of Jesus on behalf of the leaders of (name the nation). First of all in accordance with 1Timothy 2:1-2, I intercede and give thanks for kings and all in authority and expect to live a quiet and peaceable life. I pray for the Word of God to be given free course and Your people to be delivered from unreasonable and wicked men (2 Thessalonians 3:1-2). The heart of the king is in Your hand and You will turn it whichever way You choose (Proverbs 21:1). I ask You to direct the heart and mind of (name the nation's leader) to make decisions that will lead the country in Your ways and according to Your Word.
