Prayer For Kindness
Dear God, Help me to remember that everything is under Your control. There is nothing that can harm me. No one who can hurt me. You are a great and powerful God who gives me strength to rise above each difficult circumstance and to react with grace to every difficult person. Praise God, Master of All.
~Amen
Dear God, I know that silence is not golden when it ought not to exist. To deny praise to a child or to withhold best wishes from someone of whom I am jealous. To keep back from contradicting someone spreading malicious lies. All this creates silence that destroys. Open my lips to speak out when the time is right.
~Amen
Lord, There is nothing as certain as silence, stillness, and solitude, to help me understand the secrets of myself. I come to You in silent prayer. Reveal Yourself and I will be revealed.
~Amen
Dear God, After the sadness I din't think I could ever be the same again. I was right. I now have qualities I never had before. I am more sensitive to the sorrows of others. I am more compassionate to the less fortunate. I appreciate deeply. I love more intensely. Thank You for giving me the wisdom that comes from life experiences.
~Amen
Dear God, I know that sometimes I forget to praise You. I know my faith weakens and I even doubt You when things are particularly bad. But, in the end I am always grateful that You love me unconditionally and see to it that I rise to a new day.
~Amen
Dear God, Thank you for helping me to accept that your holiness is here to cover me, that I am not expected to bring my own or to impress you with an eloquence that implies spiritual genius. rather, let me bring myself to You just as I am - open, honest, ready to find true brilliance in You.
~Amen
Dear God, I lean on You because I know you care about me. Your strength supports me, Your love carries me. You are here for me: To help me through every pain. To be my eyes when I feel the need to turn away. To be my ears when I can't bear to hear what has to be said. To be my heart, always filled with hope and courage. Thank You.
~Amen
Lord, even when the world around us is swirling and broken, thank you for being true, kind, and a foundation to lean on. Medical challenges can be overwhelming, and the difficult days are hard to handle. At the same time we know that your love is unlike any other. So today, we boldly and humbly approach you asking for your kindness to meet us.
For the parents whose children are facing a diagnosis, we ask for your kindness to comfort and calm their hearts. In your provision, would you send them encouragement from friends, help from medical staff, and rest for their minds and bodies.
For the children who are facing a diagnosis, we ask for them to experience kindness in new ways. Whether it's a reprieve from pain, a kind nurse, or a visitor to make them smile, you know what each child needs, and we ask for your Spirit to be present with them now.
For the siblings who aren't facing a diagnosis, we ask that you would be their comfort and friend. As you meet them with your presence, please give them peace and confidence in your plan and help them to see seeds of hope and your kindness all around them.
For the medical staff that supports these families, we ask for your kindness to encourage them, give them the wisdom they need to serve their patients, and give them needed rest. With the many difficult days and circumstances that they face, please help them to remember your promises each day.
We know that your Spirit is with those who trust in you. For any families who are facing overwhelming worry or don't know where to turn for hope, we pray for you to send your Spirit. In your kindness, would you open their hearts to see and understand how you are working around them and to experience the peace and kindness that you give so freely?
Thank you that you know us so well and for the fact that Jesus knows our brokenness and is praying with us and for us now.
In the strong and kind name of Jesus we pray, amen.
