Prayer For Jobs
Dear God,
You know my needs. You know my desire for a job, for work I enjoy doing, for the next step in my career to present itself. I pray that you would guide me as I continue on this job hunting journey. May I focus first on your will for my life, putting your desires and your plan above my own wishes and wants. Open doors to new opportunities that you desire for me, and equip me with the skills, knowledge, and wisdom I need to take steps forward in this process. As I craft my resume, write cover letters, submit my applications, connect with new companies and potential employers, and go on interviews, give me the words to speak and the courage to share who I am and what I can do. Give me confidence that can only come from you, and give me humility too. I trust you, Lord-- my life is in your hands. Your will be done. Thank you for being near to me every step of the way and thank you for always providing for my every need. May this all be for your glory.

Dear God, I thank you that you have a job for me, and I know that in whatever position you place me, I will be blessed. I am blessed when I come and when I go, and I know that I am above only and not beneath. ... I am sure that all these prayers for employment will contribute to your successful job search.
Heavenly Father, You are a God who loves us and You
know what our family needs most. Please give my
husband wisdom in his job search. Help him
determine which opportunities to pursue and which
ones to avoid. Give him powerful words and a
confident charisma so others will see him as a strong
candidate for employment.
Dear Heavenly Father, I come to You today in real need of employment and am getting concerned as I have been out of work for some time, with few opportunities of securing any job.
You know the responsibilities I have, and I ask Lord that You would guide me to the right job. I know that there are many people who are in the same situation as I am in, and at times Lord I get quite discouraged. Please help me Lord not to be anxious, but to know that You are working all things according to Your good plan. Lord, at times I feel I am not part of Your plan, and yet I know what the Word tells us, that You will work all things together for good to those that love You, even my jobless position.
Help me to trust You in all things and not to fret or become too discouraged. I know we are to live by faith and not by sight. Help me Lord to trust in You. I ask this in Jesus' name,

Sovereign Ruler, now that I am unemployed and looking for new work, please be my faithful teacher in what I need to learn. Help me to brush up on the skills necessary in my field, and to learn important information about my industry so I can present myself as an expert in this area. Help me to read and absorb the key publications in my field so that I can present myself as a useful asset and ace any interviews I may have. Amen.
Light in the Darkness, I need Your enlightenment as I evaluate my career path, now that my employment has come to an end. Please come alongside me and counsel me regarding the best direction for my career to go. Help me consider the aspects of my former job that I loved and the areas where I excelled. Guide me toward the best career that would put my abilities and interests to work. Amen.
Lord, there are many people in our nation who are in need of a steady job with sufficient wages to care for themselves and their families. Help these people remain diligent in their job search. Give them the confidence they need to succeed and the perseverance to continue on when they become discouraged. Teach me to encourage those seeking employment and to offer them whatever assistance I can give. For all the unemployed in our nation, I offer my prayer that they might find productive work that enables them to use and develop their talents and skills and to meet their economic needs. Amen.
God our Father and our Creator, You bestow on
Us gifts and talents to develop and use in accord with Your will.
Grant to me, through the intercession of St. Joseph the Worker,
As model and guide, employment and work, that I may with dignity,
provide for those who depend upon me for care and support.
Grant me the opportunities to use
my energy and my talents and abilities
for the good of all,
and the glory of Your name. Amen
