Prayer For Husbands And Wives

Heavenly Father we come before you to thank you for all you have done and continue to do in our lives and marriage. We come before you today, God, asking for a stronger bond of unity in our marriage covenant.

Father we ask that you will give us the ability to be a united front for you letting nothing come between us.

Help us, Father to identify and work through anything that is not pleasing to you so we can continually reach higher levels of unity in our marriage spiritually, physically, and mentally.

We are thankful and excited to see the work of your hand as we do our best to seek your face daily. We love you and thank you for all of these things.

Dear Heavenly Father,

Please help us to grow. Give us the wisdom to put aside our desires for those things that we know to be good.

Grant us the strength to exercise the areas of our lives where we lack. Give us a focus and the perseverance to run.

May we step out in faith rather than sitting around waiting for motivation to move us. We know what we should be doing, and we know what we should be changing, but we're lacking self-discipline. Give us the wisdom to grow and the strength to move forward.

Amen.

Dear Lord Jesus,

Thank you for this beautiful day. You have fulfilled the desire of our hearts to be together in this life.

We pray that your blessing will always rest upon our home; that joy, peace and contentment would dwell within us as we live together in unity, and that all who enter our home may experience the strength of your love.

Father, help us to follow and serve you with an ever growing commitment because of our union. Guide us into greater love and sacrifice as we care for each other's needs, knowing you will care for us.

May we always be as keenly aware of your presence as we sense it today on our wedding day. And may our devotion in marriage be a radiant reflection of your love for us. In the name of Jesus, our Savior, we pray.

Amen.

Lord, help us to remember when we first met and the strong love that grew between us. Help us love in practical ways so that nothing can divide us. May our words be kind and our thoughts gracious. May we remain humble enough to ask for forgiveness and wise enough to freely give.

Dear Heavenly Father,

Please bless our marriage with an abundance of joy. We started off strong, and it's our deepest desire that we finish that way.

Some couples go through life barely communicating, hardly enjoying each other's company, and missing out on the many blessings that marriage can bring.

We want more for our marriage. We want to be able to laugh together and to enjoy this journey we're on. Remind us to look for joy and to choose it over our sorrow. As long as we're living, may we always find a reason to smile.

In the name of Jesus we pray.

Amen.

Dear Heavenly Father,

Please teach us how to forgive. Your word tells us to forgive others as You have also forgiven us.

We need to let go of our anger, our hurt, and our pain so that we can move forward, Lord. Please help us to do that.

Help us to let go of resentment, and soften our hearts to choose love. Give us the wisdom to handle our pain wisely and to draw boundaries where they need to be drawn.

If we are angry, may we harness that anger so we don't sin against You. And when we are hurt, please help us heal. In the name of Jesus we pray.

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank you for the spouse you have given me and all their wonderful qualities. Help me look for the good in my spouse every day and overlook any perceived flaws. Help us stay committed to one another and keep us both from temptation. Guide our future to glorify You and keep us healthy so we can work for your Kingdom. When we disagree, help us to approach one another with humility and respect. Deepen our communication and friendship so our relationship is stronger than ever. Help us guide our children and our entire family closer to You each day. May we put You first, and in turn see our love grow.

In Jesus' Name, Amen!

Dear Heavenly Father,

Grant us the strength to hold fast to our vows. When we got married we promised to love, honor, and cherish each other as long as we both shall live.

And so we ask that you teach us to love the way that we should, with patience and kindness, forgiveness and grace. Show us the best way to bestow honor one another. Open our hearts to fully cherish each other, and open our eyes to see the blessings we have.

Finally, Lord, may we never take these vows for granted, but rather fulfill them with honor and strength. In the name of Jesus we pray.

Amen.
