Prayer For Golden Wedding Anniversary
May God, who has given you fifty years together, of his infinite goodness and mercy continue to bless you and your union. May the Father who created you, the Son who redeems you, and the Holy Spirit who sanctifies you, preserve and keep you all your days. The Lord with his favour look upon you, and so fill you with all spiritual benediction and grace; that you may so please him in this life, that in the world to come you may have life everlasting. Amen.
Heavenly Father, thank You that You have brought us together as man and wife, and thank You that we are celebrating yet another wedding anniversary, for which we praise and magnify Your holy name.
Thank You for the guidance that we have received through Your Word, and Lord, we pray that day by day You would develop in both our hearts an increasing desire to put on love, knowing that this is the perfect bond of unity and peace, when founded on the Lord Jesus Christ, our Rock and Foundation. May we both grow in grace and in a knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ as together we walk in spirit and truth, and may our life become a shining example, where Christ remains the centre and circumference of our marriage.
Give us wisdom we pray, as we face the forthcoming year, and grant us to grow in love and unity one with one another and with You, so that we may be a demonstration of Your grace and mercy towards us. May our love for You and our faith in You bring glory to Your name. In Jesus' name we pray,
Amen.
Heavenly Father, we praise and thank You for the privilege and gift of marriage and for the joy that comes from sharing our life together. We thank You Father, for bringing us to this anniversary day, where we remember the vows that we made before you, and pray that You would continue to bless our life together.
Lord, we pray that Your love would increasingly shine through our marriage so that as we draw ever closer in our vertical relationship to You, it may be reflected in our fellowship with each other and shine out to those beyond our home and family.
Lord, You have done great things for us and we praise and thank You for bringing us together and for being our strength and stay when times of difficulty arose. We pray that in the days that lie ahead, we may be used by You as a witness to the wonderful work you have done in our lives and may we be used to encourage others who are setting out on the beautiful adventure of marriage.
Continue to bless our lives together and may we grow ever closer to You and to each other in the days that lie ahead. In Jesus' name we pray,
Amen.
Lord, we thank you for this couple and for all of the years that
they have had together. Today, as we celebrate their anniversary,
our prayer is that you will continue to bless them.
Let their testimony of love and forgiveness be a help to other couples
as they start on their own journeys into married life. Lord, we pray that
You will honor their commitment to each other and to You by granting them
many more years of happiness together.
Amen
Almighty God
With joy in our hearts, we offer you our praise and thanksgiving as we celebrate the Golden Wedding of our Sovereign Lady, Queen Elizabeth and His Royal Highness the Duke of Edinburgh.
We thank you for your precious gift of marriage, through which countless of your children, for better for worse, for richer for poorer, in sickness and in health, have found lifelong comfort and love.
Above all, on this happy anniversary, we thank you for the constant commitment of Her Majesty and His Royal Highness, throughout their long marriage, to the selfless Christian service of the people over whom you have called her to reign.
Pour your richest blessing upon them, we pray, and grant them many more years of happiness together.
Through Jesus Christ Our Lord
Amen
Dear Lord,
50th-anniversary-dinner-prayer-
We come today to celebrate the 50th anniversary of ______ and ______. We celebrate their journey together that started so many years ago and so many plans ago and so many dreams ago.
We celebrate all the joys that have been birthed in these 50 years. We celebrate all their happy times, all their accomplishments, and all their triumphs. Thank you, Lord, for blessing them.
We acknowledge that they have had to survive many heartaches. Yet these two have always chosen to stay together and weather each storm as man and wife. Thank you, Lord, for protecting them and their marriage.
We ask, Lord, that you would continue to protect them, and guide them as they go forth from this 50th anniversary celebration. We smile with joy as they reach out this day to find each other's hand and touch each other's heart.
Amen
Blessed are you, Lord, loving God of all creation:
you have made us your beloved
and have showered gifts upon us.
We thank you for the life of N. and N.
and for their (50) years together.
Continue to fill their hearts
with love for you and for each other.
Bless them (and their children and grandchildren)
and all their relatives and friends.
Lead us all through this life
to eternal happiness with you.
We ask this through Jesus Christ our Lord. AMEN
The Grace at this party could be:
Generous God, giver of all good gifts,
we praise and thank you for N. and N.
and for allowing us to witness their love.
May the joy of this gathering and the food we share
be signs to us of your constant love.
Bless us and the food we eat
and give us grateful hearts to sing your praise
now and for ever. AMEN.
Dear Heavenly Father, We thank you for the grace and blessings you have given this couple during the past______ years of marriage. We celebrate and recall the day when they joined together as partners in life and we thank you for being with them on their daily journey together through life's ups and downs.
Increase their sense of belonging to each other, just as Jesus says, For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh. So they are no longer two, but one. (Matthew 19:5,6 NIV)
We thank you that you have freely given them your presence, strength, help and hope. We pray that they will continue to grow in their ability to work together for the good of each other, for the good of their family and for the good of the world.
Fill them with love, forgiveness, patience and trust.
Guide them with the light of your word where it says, Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is no proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. (I Corinthians 13:4-8)
Increase their sense of companionship and friendship. Grant them the ability to laugh at their mistakes and the means to share the simple pleasures of life together.
Enable them to speak the truth in love. Help them to be good listeners. And grant them wisdom and a spirit of cooperation as they make your good plans together on the tough issues and challenges they face.
Surround them with good friends and neighbors. Protect their home. Care for their family. Provide for their needs. Guard their health. And may they enjoy many other anniversaries together. In the name of Christ we pray, Amen.
