Prayer For God To Open My Spiritual Eyes

Open Our Eyes, Lord! What do Peter, Andrew, the good thief on the cross, the woman at the well, and the man born blind have in common? Their eyes were opened, and they saw Jesus as their Savior. This is precisely what God wants to do for us. He wants to make his mysteries known to us by the power of the Holy Spirit. He wants to reveal his love and his plan to us so that we can play a vital role in fulfilling his plan and help build his kingdom. He wants to urge us to reach out in faith to receive his revelation and be transformed by the very truths he revealed to his apostles so long ago.

Can we really hear God's voice? Yes! God has revealed himself and his wisdoma wisdom that was destined by God for our glory before time began (1 Corinthians 2:7). Now he invites us to let that revelation penetrate our hearts and minds so that we can live a life worthy of such a high and glorious calling.

Lord Jesus,
I ask you to open my eyes
as you did with the blind man,
so that I may really see.
Tune my ears
as you did with the man who was deaf and dumb,
so that I may really hear
what you are saying to me.
May the many experiences of my senses
remind me all that is around me.
May all that I experience
lead me closer to you.

I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened, so that you will know what is the hope of His callingand what is the surpassing greatness of His power toward us who believe (Ephesians 1: 18-19).

Father, we admit that we don't really see all this. The eyes of our hearts are open just a tiny bit. Our faith is at low ebb. The examples we see around us in our churches fall way short of all this. Help us to see. In this New Year, open our spiritual eyes to grasp and see clearly things we haven't seen before, to grasp with a firm grip a new level of faith, to be filled to overflowing with your joy and your love and your presence. To know you as we never have before.

"Open the eyes of my heart, Lord,
Open the eyes of my heart.
I want to see You, I want to see You."[4]

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

. My Father, please remove every form of log blocking my sight from making progress

Lord, open my eyes, internal and external and cause me to see clearly!

Abba, we come before You to see. We want to enjoy the splendor of all that You have for us, and desire not to be blinded to the Truth and Your fullness. Open the eyes of our hearts. Give us eyes that can see and ears that can hear Your Truth and Your Voice. May we not be distracted by the lies of the enemy that come to steal, kill, and destroy, but rather may we rely fully on Your Word as Truth. Plant the seeds of Your Light into our heart that we may shine brightly in this dark age. Humble me, Abba. Let me not grow callous or blinded by lies. Do not let me stray from You, Abba, but rather pull me in close to You each and every day. I love You. Amen.
