Prayer For Giving Birth
Merciful Father, thank you that every good and perfect gift comes from you. May I feel peace and security in your arms as I give birth. May your love fill my heart with joy. May your presence be my strength when I feel pain. May your word give me peace throughout this process. Through Jesus Christ, our Lord, Amen.
O Jehovah, my God, look upon me with grace and mercy. Strengthen me to give birth. Bless my child and fill them with your Holy Spirit. Shine the light of your presence upon my family that we may follow your path. May the Holy Spirit indwell in our hearts and God reign in our lives. Through Jesus Christ, our Lord, Amen.
God of All Comfort, bring peace to my mind and my heart as I journey through childbirth. Help me to find comfort and rest in you. I take hold of the promises in your word when you declare that you will never leave nor forsake me. Through Jesus Christ, our Lord, Amen.
O Lord, my God, thank you that you have plans for me that are for my good and your glory. Fill me with your Spirit and help me endure the difficulties of childbirth with my hope set on the joy of the child you have given me. Nothing can separate us from your love. Through Jesus Christ, our Lord, Amen.
Mighty God, as I persevere through the pain of childbirth, remind me that your love endures throughout all generations. Help me put my trust in you, knowing you are faithful to fulfill all your promises. Strengthen my body when I feel weak and refresh my soul when I feel overwhelmed. Through Jesus Christ, our Lord, Amen.
Everlasting Father, thank you that you are the author of life. You are a perfectly loving Father who always gives good gifts to your children. Please help and protect me through the process of labor and delivery. May my child know their identity and dignity as your child, as you lead them into the fullness of life. Through Jesus Christ, our Lord, Amen.
Compassionate and Gracious God, I thank you for the wonder of children and the gift of new life. As Mary knew the pain and joy of motherhood, please sustain me through childbirth with your grace and love. May this child know your love, your wisdom and your care. Through Jesus Christ, our Lord, Amen.
Dear Heavenly Father, thank You that the time has arrived for this new little life to be brought into the world and that the long months of waiting is almost over. How precious is each little life, and I thank You for this miracle of creation and love.
Thank You, that You have brought this pregnancy safely to its full term. I ask that this precious little babe would be delivered safely and without any complications, for either the mother or her baby.
I never cease to wonder at the miracle of life that secretly grows and develops within the womb, until the moment arrives when for new life to be born into the waiting world. Thank You for new life, Lord.
I pray You would be close to all mothers-in-waiting. Calm all fears, undertake for all their concerns and may each on know Your presence as they enter this beautiful state of motherhood. In Jesus' name,
