Prayer For Food We Eat
All praise be Yours, my Lord,
through Sister Earth our Mother,
by whom you give us food and drink
and care for all our needs.
All praise be Yours
through Christ our Lord. Amen.
God of love, Creator of all,
this food does not come to us without cost.
It comes to us through human effort,
and we are thankful.
Even more so, this food comes to us as a gift of the earth.
Creation has given itself so that our lives can be sustained,
and we are thankful.
In our gratitude,
we acknowledge the true cost of this food.
And in our prayer to you, O God,
Help us renew our commitment to care for the earth. Amen.
Lord, I praise you for caring about my wellbeing and that of my family. You have watched over us day and night and we don't have to worry about any danger.
Thank you for giving us food to nourish our bodies and for enjoyment.
Give me a thankful heart always for the food you have provided for me and my family.
Teach me to have a thankful heart for the food you provide for me. I am alive today because of the meals I enjoy each day.
They have sustained my life and given me strength. I have never had to worry about food because you have always provided for me.
Help me to never complain about the food but to receive it with thanksgiving knowing it is from you.
Let me be content with the food you have provided for my family each day. The Israelites complained about the manna you gave them to their detriment (Numbers 11:6).
They didn't recognize it as divine food from you.
May I always be thankful for the food that others serve me with when I visit their homes knowing it's been made with love.
I thank you because you always meet my needs.
In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.
Lord, I thank you for providing food for me and my family. We have not lacked food and for that, I am grateful and praise your holy name.
Just like you give food to the birds of the air and the animals of the earth, you have given us food in abundance.
I ask you to bless the food that we eat each day and may it nourish our bodies.
Bless the person who prepared this food before us and for taking their time to make a delicious meal.
Thank you for blessing us with different types of foods that give various vitamins and minerals to our bodies (Genesis 9:3).
I'm amazed whenever I enjoy meals prepared using food items from every corner of the world.
Thank you for providing rain which grows the food we eat and for giving farmers the wisdom to grow different foodstuffs.
Thank you for the different flavors and tastes of food that we enjoy each day, for they give us joy when we eat them.
May we remember your goodness toward us and always eat and drink for your glory.
In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.
O Lord, thank you for the blessings that you have freely given to us. May your blessings be upon the food and water that we are about to partake. Let the blood of Jesus purify anything that will contaminate the food and cause us to fall sick. May we leave this table feeling energized so that we can be able to carry out regular duties for the glory of your name. In Jesus' name, I believe and pray, Amen.
O God, thank you for enabling us to gather in this place so that we can share this great meal that is before us. Forgive us for taking such moments for granted. As we eat, may it bring nourishment to our bodies. Lord, just the way you provided for the children of Israel in the wilderness, please provide for those that don't have anything to eat today. In Jesus' name, I believe and pray, Amen.
For food in a world where many walk in hunger;
For faith in a world where many walk in fear;
For friends in a world where many walk alone;
We give you thanks, O Lord.
Loving God, bless all those gathered here today
as we come together in friendship and fellowship.
Thank you for the blessings of our individual
and collective God-given gifts.
Place in our hearts the desire to make a difference
to our families, to our community, to our country,
and to the many cultures and peoples worldwide.
Give us balance in times of distraction and uncertainty.
Help us move towards our goals with determination
and always with an abundant sense of humor.
Thank you for food in a world where many know only hunger;
For our faith in a world where many know fear;
For friends in a world where many know only loneliness.
Please bless this food we are about to share, those who prepared it, those who serve it,
and those who have worked to make today the special occasion that it is.
For all of this we give you thanks.
