Prayer For First Day Of College

O Eternal God, bless all schools, colleges, and universities [and especially __________], that they may be lively centers for sound learning, new discovery, and the pursuit of wisdom; and grant that those who teach and those who learn may find you to be the source of all truth; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen

Lord, we pray for the protection of (name). We ask that you would guard their heart and their mind in Christ Jesus. That you would wrap them up in Your love, And deliver them from all evil. Lord, we pray that you would give (name) great enthusiasm for their studies. May you inspire them each and everyday. May each seminar and class bring fresh inspiration to their work. May each moment be filled with the energy they need for their tasks. Lord, we pray that (name) would know the hope to which they are called. That their life would be transformed by revelation from Heaven. That You would inspire their direction And gently lead them into their destiny. Lord, we especially pray for (name's) friends at college. May they come to know Your goodness and love, To walk in Your freedom and grace All the days of their life. Amen.

Lord, as we prepare for the coming of a new semester, make us ready, attentive and available to hear you.

Thank You for the gift of being able to rise each day with the assurance that You walk through it with us.

Thank You for the gifts of creativity and uniqueness, and the energy to put them to good use.

May all that we are today, all that we try to do today, may all our encounters, reflections, even the frustrations and failings all be place in your hands.

May the work we do and the way we do it, bring new hope, new life, and courage to all we come in contact with this semester. We thank you, Lord. Amen

Dear Lord, I pray for all of my Instructors, Professors and Administrators. As we are told in the Bible, as a student (disciple) our teachers are above us and as we grow and learn we strive to be like our teacher. Please give them the wisdom, strength and courage to be the best instructor and administrator that they can be. Help them to stay healthy as they do well to teach us. Lord, if they do not know you as personal Savior, I pray that they come to know you and in doing so that their instruction and work is glorifying to You. I pray this in Jesus name. Amen.

Dear Lord, as I continue in this new college life help me never to forget to devote time of praise and worship to You. I know that you are the One who sustains me and the least I can do for everything that You have done for me is to dedicate time to You. Help me to know that renewing my mind in You is a necessary part of my life. Nudge me out of bed on Sunday and if there is a good mid-week service please make it so I can go to that too. Send new friends my way that are like-minded Christians who will attend services with me and hold me accountable when I am absent. I love you Lord and I want to praise and worship You. In Jesus name, Amen

Heavenly Father, help my child and other college students to walk in the ways that align with your word. Lord, as they juggle different things at school, remind them that they can do all things through Christ who strengthens them. May they take delight in you and commit everything they do to you that you may grant them the desires of their hearts. In Jesus' name, I believe and pray, Amen.

Lord, thank you for enabling me to join college, many looked forward to this, but they did not manage to get into any college, I don't take this for granted. But Lord, college life is very challenging. We interact with people from many backgrounds. It is easy to get carried away and drift away from your word. Help me, Lord, to continue worshipping you in spirit and truth. I also pray for other believers who are in college, help them to stand firm in the faith, and continue putting you first. In Jesus' name, we believe and pray, Amen.

As you walk into class for the first time, I pray that you will have firm convictions about what you believe, who you are, and more importantly whose you are. I pray that in the classroom you will go out of your way to be a great student and to do everything, including school, as though you are doing it for God and not for men.

I pray that as you leave the classroom and into your new life of freedom, that you will realize that you real freedom comes from Christ and what He did for you on the cross. I pray that you will find people to hang out with that will encourage you and build you up. I pray that you find a group of believers to hang out with and that you get plugged into a local church in your new home town.

As you find yourself stuck making choices in the moment, I pray that you will be firm in your convictions and that you will make decisions that will honor your heavenly father. I pray that you will spend time alone with your father and that your faith will be deep so when these decisions arise you will not sway from what you believe.

Lastly I pray that you will have a blast. I pray that you will enjoy the community and the relationships you will build. I pray that you will learn skills that will enhance you the rest of your life. I pray that you find things you really enjoy and that you will make memories of a lifetime.

But most importantly I pray that for the next four years you make decisions that will lead you to reward and not to regret!
