Prayer For Fallen Police Officer

God our Father, we mourn for the death of police officer ___________. He has been of good and faithful service to the community for the past 5 years. Take care of him there in heaven. Amen.

Lord God we pray for our fallen comrades in their duty as police officers. Bring comfort to their famlies as they mourn for them. Amen.

Father, to those who've been there, nothing compares to the heart-wrenching screams of Officer down! Except perhaps the torment of a family opening the door to see two fellow officers of their officer standing with grim faces and tears welling in their eyes as the family falls to its knees crying, No, God, please no!

Or maybe you hear them wailing, Why God, how could you do this when they were only trying to protect our community? And even, Lord where were you when they were dying?

Lord, how does anyone comfort this family? Like Jeremiah, they wail, My grief is beyond healing; my heart is broken (Jeremiah 18:18 NLT). There are no human answers to satisfy or soothe their agonizing wounds of grief, anger, and sorrow.

Only you can Lord. Psalm 147:3 assures us that He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds. And Psalm 34:18 NLT confirms, The Lord is close to the brokenhearted; he rescues those whose spirits are crushed.

We beg of you to surround them with love. Bring others to their side who have experienced their pain and understand the deep ache in their heart and will pray with and for them. Keep away those who patronize and tell them everything will be all right, because for this family, it will never be all right again.

Father, you know the fellow officers who mourn with the family, especially those who were with the fallen officer. Remove from them the repeated nightmares of asking themselves what they could have done differently or why wasn't it them in the coffin.

Lord you know, that the death of their fellow officer will always haunt them and the memory will never fade. Father guide them to the help they need to recover from what they've seen and don't let it cause division among the unit or place any in danger with fear and hesitancy.

Guide them in keeping their focus on work when they're on duty and help guard their minds from the what-ifs when they try to sleep at night. Help them rest and renew their resolve to do their job to the best of their ability.

Father, we know you mourn with both these families. Give them whatever they each need in their lives. Walk beside them Father. Draw them into your embrace and fill them with a peace that passes all understanding. For those who don't know you, open their eyes to seek you, the only source of relief from their anguish. Let them feel your presence grieving with them. Your tears. Your hugs. Your love. Amen.

Heavenly Father,

Please be with our colleague who has been injured whilst on duty.
Lord in your mercy,
Hear our prayer.

Bless the work of the nurses and doctors who are treating him/her.
Lord in your mercy,
Hear our prayer.

Bring your healing into his/her body, come restore him/her fully.
Lord in your mercy,
Hear our prayer.

Be with their family, comfort them and keep them in their absence.
Lord in your mercy,
Hear our prayer.

May they know that they have served well and grant him/her peace of mind and heart.
Lord in your great mercy,
Hear our prayer.

Amen.

Almighty God,
we pray for all who at this time mourn Fiona and Nicola,
who have been tragically killed whilst serving the public;
and we ask for your comfort
and strength to be especially
with their loved ones and colleagues.

As we pray also for those
who continue to be in danger from this violence,
we give thanks for the constant courage
and devotion to duty of the police,
and all who take risks
to protect our communities.

May they be strengthened for the tasks they face
and supported in the commitment they give,
that they may further the well-being of all people
and enable our society to be loving, just and at peace.

We ask this in the name of Our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
Amen

God comfort the family and friends of Officer Christopher Morton. Comfort and strengthen his fellow officers of the Clinton Police Department who have lost two officers in seven months. This we pray in the name of Jesus, Amen.

All Powerful God,
We honor today those men and women
Our sons and daughters,
Husbands and wives,
Fathers, brothers, sisters, mothers
Who have laid down their life for their country.

Whether weary or emboldened, quiet or defiant,
Vulnerable or ready when You called them home,
Their sacrifice is too humbling for words
except these uttered in prayer.

Loving Lord, bless them forever in Your eternal peace.
Let the sounds of strife, the cries of battle, the wounds of war
be calmed for all eternity in Your loving and endless grace.
Let these great warriors find rest at last,
Ever reminded that we who are left behind
Cherish their spirit, honor their commitment,
send them our love,
and will never forget the service that they gave.

Heavenly Father,
We pray for the eternal repose of our brother Jose.
Be merciful upon him.
Give consolation and strength to his family and friends.
Bless our community during this time of sadness and desolation.
May we seek your peace through a conversion of life.
May our faith in the Risen Christ
dispel the shadows caused by grief.
May the soul of our brother, Jose, and the souls
of all the faithful departed rest in peace!
Amen.
