Prayer For Dead Animals
In Your infinite wisdom, Lord God,
when You created the Universe
You blessed us with all living creatures.
We especially thank You for giving us our pets
who are our friends and who bring us so much joy in life.
Their presence very often helps us get through trying times.
Kindly bless my pet.
May my pet continue giving me joy and remind me of Your power.
May we realize that as our pets
trust us to take care of them, so we should trust You to take care of us,
and in taking care of them we share in Your love for all Your creatures.
Enlighten our minds to preserve all endangered species
so that we may continue to appreciate all Your creatures.
Grant this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Dear God, we bring our grief in the loss of (pet's name) to you and ask for the courage to move through our grief. We bring you all our thanks for (pet's name) who we were blessed to have as our precious pet. She/he gave so freely of his/her love to all
those who she'd meet. We commit our beloved pet and companion into your loving hands. Surround us with your love and give us others to support us as we mourn.

Lord, thank you for (pet name). We love him very much and we know he will soon be in heaven getting pet by all the angels. He'll enjoy his angel wings and will probably make all the angels happy with his cuddles. Please help us say goodbye until we see him again in heaven.
Lord, pets were one of your greatest creations. (Pet name) brought me so joy and love and I praise you for your wisdom in creating animals that enjoy the company of people. Thank you for the blessing of (pet name). May he go peacefully into heaven and await my eventual arrival. Please let me see (pet name) again someday at the Rainbow Bridge.
O Lord our God, we come before You this day in sadness. (Pet's name), who brought us so much joy in life, has now died. (His/Her) happy times in our family's embrace have come to an end. We miss (pet's name) already.

We understand that all that lives must die. We knew that this day would come. And yet, O God, we would have wanted one more day of play, one more evening of love with (pet's name).
O God, as we have taken care of (pet's name) in life, we ask that You watch over (him/her) in death. You entrusted (pet's name) to our care; now, we give (him/her) back to You. May (pet's name) find a happy new home in Your loving embrace.
As we remember (pet's name), may we love each other more dearly. May we care for all Your creatures, for every living thing, as we protected the blessed life of (pet's name). May (his/her) memory bless our lives with love and caring forever. Amen.

pray you, to treat with compassion the living creatures entrusted to our care, that they
may not suffer from our neglect nor become the victims of any cruelty; and grant that in
caring for them we may find a deeper understanding of your love for all creation;

O God, we thank you for making the animals to brighten our lives. Help us to save them
from danger as Noah did. Help us to love them and care for them as St. Francis did. And
when we see the animals that you have made, help us to remember that you are holy and
worthy of praise. In the name of the Father (who thought up the giraffe and the zebra)
and of the Son (who was named after the beautiful white Lamb) and the Holy Spirit (who
came to us as a Dove. Amen.
