Prayer For Church Council Meeting
O Lord, our God, you are worthy of all our praise. You are the God who never fails to keep his promises. We thank you that in Jesus' life, death and resurrection we see your love, justice, mercy, provision and victory. You are the God who lifts up those who are weighed down. You are the God who provides for your children. Our desire is to praise you as long as we live. Inhabit our praises as we gather together today. Through Jesus Christ, our Lord, Amen.
Heavenly Father, we understand that this role is not easy as doing the work for Your kingdom never is. So in this Church Council Meeting, I pray that we take up the cross and do so with Your wise guidance. I declare that we will not battle without Your divine wisdom, because without it we will fail. I pray that all of us will incline our hearts to You because the victory depends on having many of us advisers who wholeheartedly seek You, Amen.
Eternal God, let us do everything with love right now. I pray that as we gather together as a body of advisers, let us do so lovingly. Let us correct Your people and lead Your people with love in our hearts. Let the counsel we give, be sweet to our church brothers and sisters. Have Your divine way in all that we do, have Your divine way in the way we communicate and sharpen one another, Amen.
Faithful God, help us listen to Your life-giving reproof so that we may dwell among the wise, but also be decisive and wise when making decisions. I pray that we correct one another (and the church) by being led by You, I also pray against any spirit that neglects discipline as this can be detrimental to their character. In this Church Council Meeting, I pray that we listen to Your reproof so that we can acquire understanding, so let us humble ourselves so we can serve You, Amen.
Oh Savior, I pray that You counsel and discipline us so that we may be wise in Your eyes. Lord, our own earthly decision-making will not lead us to where we need to be, but it is Your direction that will guide us to the right path. I pray that you help us to be wise for the rest of our days, help us acknowledge Your Holy Spirit for correction and leadership. I pray that we become sensitive to the needs of Your people, Amen.
Heavenly Father, where there is rude and disrespectful behavior, there is discord. I pray against any angry, hateful or sinful hearts right now during this Church Council Meeting. I declare peace within our meetings in Jesus Name. I pray that we incline our hearts and ears to You because when we receive Your divine counsel, we also receive Your wisdom. I thank You for Your guidance and counsel, let it always direct our steps as we lead Your people, Amen.
Righteous God, I pray that we become a body of people who consistently provide Godly guidance to Your people. Your Word states that where there is no guidance, people fall. We don't want to be the reason Your people fall, so let us take this role seriously because of the responsibility attached to it. But, where there is an abundance of counselors, there is victory. We thank You in advance for the victory, Amen.
Dear Lord, we gather together as a group who aim to advise Your people. So help us to do so with Your wisdom; not our own because the way of a fool is right in his own eyes; let us not be ignorant to Your way. I pray that as we act as the church council, we listen to Your counsel so that we can be wise members. Father help us be sensitive to Your Holy Spirit, Amen.
