Prayer For Bad Attitude

God, today I bring to You my bad attitude. No one else gave it to me. Nobody else caused it. Although it often seems contagious, I know it doesn't spread like a virus. The true problem with my attitude bears my name.

I can't fix this myself, Lord. I'm grumpy. I'm crabby. I'm touchyand no one had better touch me, because those bitter bubbles simmering under the surface might explode.

Father, today I need You to fix my attitude. I need You to help me take the form of a servant. I need You to help me consider others more important than myself. I need You to replace my haughtiness with humility, my pouting with praise.

I need You to change me, because I can't change myself.

Jesus, You gave us the perfect example of someone who put Himself last. When scorned, mocked, and lied about, You remained silent. When reviled, You did not revile in return. You had every chance to spew words of hatred but spoke words of healing and forgiveness instead.

Today, my Master, move me to lay myself down on Your altar. I acknowledge my inability to do even that much on my own. Live, move, and breathe through me. Help me to die as You live Your life through me. I can't get it rightbut You can. In Your holy name I pray, AMEN.

Loving Holy Spirit, with Your help I'm able to bear good fruit and get promoted in life.

Jesus, I follow your example and therefore I'm difficult to offend and quick to forgive.

Father, I receive Your grace and mercy daily and always remember that I do many things right.

"God, I'm tired of going around with a negative attitude. I want to be a blessing to people, and I know I can if I'll just surrender my pride to You. Lord, I am humbled by Your grace and I praise You for it. Thank You for giving me the faith to forgive others and to be content in every circumstance. Your Word says if I trust You, I will not be disappointed. I know You're able to change my circumstances at any time. I want to prove to You that whether or not You do, I will serve You. Lord, I'm determined to live with an attitude that glorifies You. Help me to keep my heart humble and my mind focused on you. In Jesus' name, Amen."

Lord, I confess that sometimes I choose to focus on the negatives, instead of focusing on what you've called me to focus on. Help me take the words of Philippians 4:8 to heart. In every moment of every day, help me focus on whatever is true, noble, right, pure, lovely and admirable, so that my attitude may reflect and honor you. As I practice shifting my perspective, keep my heart from growing cold or bitter. Teach me to remember that I am not a slave to my negative emotions. Because of your Spirit, I can tell those emotions to be removed and turn my eyes to the things of you, instead. In Jesus' name, amen.

Lord Jesus, You are my High Priest with ready access to God, and you are not out of touch with reality. You have been through weakness and testing, experienced it allall but the sin. So I have come to receive mercy and accept the help that you are so ready to give.
I acknowledge my sin of rebellion, and ask forgiveness for my negative attitude toward my employer, boss and co-workers. I admit my sinsmake a clean breast of themand You won't let me down; You'll be true to Yourself. Thank You for forgiving my sins and purging me of all wrongdoing. I am an overcomer by the blood of the Lamb and the word of my testimony.
In the name of Jesus, I pull down the strongholds of distrust and suspicion that have protected and reinforced my rebellious thought patterns, wrong motives, wrong attitudes and bad feelings toward others. I bind my mind to the mind of Christ, and my will to the will of God. I loose myself from self-centered and selfish thinking.
I submit to the constant ministry of transformation by the Holy Spirit, and take my everyday, ordinary lifemy sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around lifeand place it before You, my God, as an offering. I fix my attention on You, and I will be changed from the inside out.
Father, I choose to be obedient to my employers and respect them, and I am eager to please them in singleness of motive and with all my heart as [service] to Christ, not in the way of eye-service [as if they were watching me] but as a servant of Christ, doing Your will heartily and with my whole soul.
I will render service with goodwill, as to You and not to men. I know that for whatever good I do, I will receive my reward from You.
Father, I ask You to help me do everything readily and cheerfullywithout bickering and second-guessing. I purpose to go out into the world uncorrupted, a breath of fresh air in the squalid and polluted society. May I provide people with a glimpse of good living and of the living God.
I revere You, Lord, and my work is a sincere expression of my devotion to You. Whatever may be my task, I work at it heartily (from the soul), as something done for You, knowing that the One I am actually serving is the Lord Christ (the Messiah). In His name I pray, amen.

Lord, free me from the shackles of a bad attitude. Work in my heart and mind to transform my thinking from negative to positive despite the struggles I face. Fill me with a joy that can only come from You. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
