Prayer For A Principal

Father, Praise You for the opportunity to be mothers and fathers. You craft each life with importance. Every one equally loved by You, our faithful and loving Father. We know that You have a purpose for each life You draft, and praise You that we get to be a part of that purpose.
Thank You for every day they hop into the car or off the school bus safely returned to us. The joys of parenthood are as abundant as the worries. We worry about our kids, God. School should be a safe place for them to learn, grow, and foster the friendships You designed us to crave. But the world is broken, and school isn't safe. There are lock-down drills that send teachers to dark corners to huddle with their students. Bless the teachers that fight back their own fear to risk their lives for our children.

Schools have been attacked. Gunshots have filled hallways and forever changed the way we feel when we say goodbye to our kids each morning. Be with us as we struggle to maintain composure on the days the depth of reality is too much for us to swallow.

God, there is a reason You tell us to have faith like that of a child. They are bursting with curiosity and full of love. Protect their innocence and preserve the spark in their eyes from the darkness of the world. Let them be little lights to their parents and teachers. Allow them to grow and have a fair opportunity to learn.

Father, we confess our worry and our fear to You today. You tell us not to worry, but it is so hard not to cry when we think of what other parents have had to suffer on account of the tragedy we prepare to face everyday. Comfort their hearts in a special way.

Bless our children and keep them safe from physical harm. Protect them from abuse, abduction, child trafficking, and addiction. Guard their hearts from the devil's schemes, and protect their minds from things that are not appropriate for their eyes to see and their ears to hear. Bless them with hearts of compassion for their fellow students and teachers.

May they be kind on the playground and quiet in the hallways. Protect our children from gossip and bullying. May they know and hear Your voice louder than all the others.

Godly friends are important, and we pray today that You bless our children with those friends. May their friendships be innocent and light, and may the be filled with kindness, understanding, and compassionate consideration for one another.

God, it's hard to let go of our kids, and send them out into a world that is so unstable and so volatile. But You are bigger than all of our worries. You are bigger than our worst fears. Send Your Holy Spirit to quicken in our hearts as we seek You in Your Word and pray to You for comfort. Remind us that our children are Your children, and that You love them infinitely more than we do. You love us, and them, so much that You sent Your Son Jesus to die on a cross. In the most cruel way to die, the Savior of the World hung there for us. For all of us. My we always cling to the cross for our hope, and light the path for our children to, as well.

In Jesus Name, Amen.

hank you that you promise us That when two or more come together in Your name You are with us. Thank you Lord that you have been with us throughout this lesson And that you are with us right now. Inspire us as we leave this place To love and serve You always. In the name of Jesus. Amen.

Almighty God, We come to you today and give thanks for all our teachers. Thank you for the way in which they give of themselves each day in the classroom, Serving and instructing the next generation of this land. We thank you for them all now. Father, please fill their hearts with courage now by your mighty Spirit. Fill them with your strength, so they may rise to every challenge and not grow weary. Fill them with your wisdom, so that they may be able to make good judgement when guiding and helping others. Fill them with your peace, so that when stress and anxiety comes it would not overwhelm them. Fill them with your joy, so that the passion they have for their subject may become a infectious passion that spreads. We ask all this in the wonderful name of Jesus. Amen.

O Christ, our Teacher,
You invite Your faithful people
to make disciples in Your name
and to announce good news to the poor.
We thank You for the gift of Catholic schools,
where the message of Your life, death, and
resurrection is proclaimed,
Christian community is experienced,
service to our brothers and sisters is modeled,
and worship of You is cultivated.
Provide for us a principal whose leadership will fulfill that mission
and ensure that our children and families can
benefit from a high quality Catholic education.
We ask this through the intercession of Mary,
Mother of Catholic Schools.
Amen.

Dear God, we come to you today asking your blessing on our school administrators. Thank you that they have answered the call to lead our teachers and schools so that our children might learn in a safe and nurturing environment conducive to academic and personal success.

Bless our school administrators with wisdom, integrity, a sense of humor, patience and the physical and mental energy equal to their tasks. Bless them with strong support from parents, teachers and the community.

Enable and empower our administrators to act as encouragers for our teachers, parents and students. May they be approachable, friendly and professional as they support our teachers. Give them insights into each teacher's unique gifts, strengths and abilities so that they might engage each teacher in roles that contribute to the common good.

We pray for patience and wisdom for our administrators when complaints arise from parents. Give them the grace to listen. We pray for parents that they will be reasonable and willing to listen . We pray that parents will first communicate with their child's teacher before escalating their complaint. Make parents aware that the school is working in the best interest of all as they seek practical solutions to improve the situation.

When tragedy strikes in the school community, such as the death of a student or a natural disaster, help our administrators to be instruments of comfort and stability, bringing the faculty and school community together in ways that will allow your caring presence to be known and shown in healing ways.

We pray for our school administrator's role in keeping our school campuses safe from violence, threats and bullying. May your protecting angels surround them and our schools.

We pray that our school administrators may have wisdom and discernment as they deal with discipline problems. Give them the information necessary about the special needs of individual students so they can decide the best course of action that will keep the classroom safe, orderly and stress free and at the same time help the disorderly student grow in their ability to develop appropriate behavior and coping skills. And when outside resources are needed such as psychological help or special accommodations, we pray that they may be readily available to our administrators.

As we pray, we are aware that being a school administrator can be a lonely and difficult job. Please send them encouragers and relieve them of demanding workloads that prevent them from having quality family and personal time. Show them healthy ways to relieve stress and ways to stay active physically. Help them feel loved and accepted by You in their most difficult professional and personal times.

Reward our school administrators by allowing them see the fruits of their labor displayed in the success of their teachers and students. Give our school administrators joy in seeing their school become a central part of the greater community, a place that has a family feel.

Accept our prayer today as an expression of our gratefulness to you and to them for their dedication in making our schools a central and vital part of our community. Amen
