Prayer For A Medical Procedure
Father,
The fire really did a number on me. I am scared for this surgery, Lord. Will the doctors be able to make me look like me again? I'm scared of the outcome, Lord, and that is why I need Your peace so badly right now. Help me through this and hold my hand. I need You, God. Thank You always for the many blessings You lavish on me. You are such a loving God! I love You! Amen
Dear Heavenly Father,
Today I have a big surgery coming up. Lord, I don't want to mess this up and I need You to guide my hands. I need You to be with me every single step of the way. This woman is committing her life to my hands while she is under and I want her to have full confidence in me just as I have in You, Lord. I know my job well, but I never want to take it for granted. Keep me focused and alert, Lord, as I help fix what is broken. Thank You for Your love and grace, Lord. Amen
Dear God, you have reminded us constantly in Your word that however good we are at our jobs our actions are all in vain without you. I therefore come before You today in all humility to dedicate all the medical personnel that will be involved in my surgical procedure today. I pray that above all else, You, my dear Father, will give them the gift of humility and gentleness. Remove any arrogance or pride in the operating room and remind them that it is You, not them, in control. It is you who decides what the outcome will be. I also pray that you will give them the skill and precision that they need to make the operation on my body a success. I also pray to you my dear God that you as the Prince of Peace will give them the peace and courage as they prepare me and take me through the procedure; that they may have no anxiety or doubt about their decisions and actions. Finally, I pray that you will work through each and every person involved in my surgery. Lord, may your will be done. For whatever I have forgotten, may the Holy Spirit intercede on behalf of my spirit. All this I ask in the name of Jesus Christ,

Almighty God, you who knows all things, sees all things, and can do all things; thank you for listening to me in this time of need. I, your humble servant, call out to you as my healer in this time of desperate need. Even in sickness you have shown me your grace, reminded me of your love, and granted me peace. Even when my body failed me, you strengthened my heart and spirit for your service. Thank you for staying with me against all odds. Please watch over me as I go through this surgery. Please remain with me during this time. Be my Provider and Sustainer so my family can be clear of any burdens that arise. I ask that I go through a quick and successful recovery. For all that I have asked, Lord, may your will, and yours alone, be done. I ask this in the name of Jesus Christ our Savior.

Guide with wisdom and skill the minds and hands of those who minister in your name; and grant that every cause of illness being removed, I may be restored to soundness of health and learn to live in more perfect harmony with You and with my fellow men, through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Into your hands, I commend my body and Soul. Amen.
O Jesus Christ, Messiah and Lord, grant me joyful acceptance of the surgery which awaits me,
and let this be the relief and cure which I seek
In the New Testament, Jesus performed many miracles. Though Jesus is part of the Holy Trinity, asking for guidance and trusting your medical professionals is also important. Giving up control to those who have your best interests in mind may relieve some stress with hope and faith.

The fear of surgery is tied with literally venturing into the unknown, as you are often put under anesthesia and unsure of where it may take you. Praying to a higher power to guide others who are helping you is a great way of placing trust in medicine and the skill of your surgeons.
Dear Lord. I know that the painful medical procedure I am facing is necessary to determine treatment for the cancer in my body. Please stand with me during this time of uncertainty. Help me to decide wisely on the treatment. I pray that whatever treatment I choose, that it will cure me for the rest of my life. Thank you Lord for being so caring and generous.
