Prayer For A Future Spouse

Heavenly Father, I struggle with loneliness. I am surrounded by friends who are in loving and committed relationships, and I can't help but wish that I were in one too. I long for that type of intimacy and friendship, and it is painful at times to be single. Give me the strength to trust in You and Your timing and as and when it is Your will, please place someone in my life for that purpose. I know that You are good. May I patiently wait in Your goodness. Amen.

Dear Lord, I come to You in my longing and present my requests to You in faithfulness. I desire to be married and ask that You bring a faithful Christian man into my life. Help me not desire a partner more than I desire You, but rather continue preparing me to enter into a Godly relationship in Your timing and give me patience as I wait. Amen.

O Jesus, lover of the young, the dearest Friend I have, in all confidence I open my heart to You to beg Your light and assistance in the important task of planning my future. Give me the light of Your grace, that I may decide wisely concerning the person who is to be my partner through life. Dearest Jesus, send me such a one whom in Your divine wisdom You judge best suited to be united with me in marriage. May her/his character reflect some of the traits of Your own Sacred Heart. May s/he be upright, loyal, pure, sincere and noble, so that with united efforts and with pure and unselfish love we both may strive to perfect ourselves in soul and body, as well as the children it may please You to entrust to our care. Bless our friendship before marriage, that sin may have no part in it. May our mutual love bind us so closely, that our future home may ever be most like Your own at Nazareth.

O Mary Immaculate, sweet Mother of the young, to your special care I entrust the decision I am to make as to my future wife/husband. You are my guiding Star! Direct me to the person with whom I can best cooperate in doing God's Holy Will, with whom I can live in peace, love and harmony in this life, and attain to eternal joys in the next.

Great God in heaven,sometimes it feels hopeless for me to ever find a godly mate. Please help me to be strengthened at times when my faith is weak and when I grow despondent as if nothing will ever change. Help me to see with the eyes of faith and not of the flesh and to trust in You for all that is to happen in my life. You know my heart and how I feel and only You can help me when I feel down. You alone can lift me up when I feel broken. You are the God of hope for the hopeless so restore my hope in a future that You have planned for me and then do what I am supposed to do in my life so that, if You are willing, You might send someone into my life that I can have a relationship that honors you and glorifies You so that my future spouse and I can live as You designed us to live; to love one another and to serve one another in a way that You sent Your Son to come and give His life for us so that we could be redeemed. I admit my doubts, my fears, and my restlessness in seeking a godly mate and so help me to trust in You alone for the future that You hold for me and in the holy name of Jesus Christ I pray, amen.

Righteous Father,

You know that it's not good for us to be alone and that we need one another for fellowship and companionship so I am praying now for you to send to me a godly spouse so that we can bring up godly children for Your glory but please help me to focus on seeking You and Your kingdom first as I know you'll add the other things I need. Help me to be patient and not make any quick decisions and to seek godly counsel if I am blessed with a potential mate. Help me to know what to look for in a spouse but first, how to make sure that I am living a godly life for You and that I would be a blessing to the person who I might marry. Instead of finding the right person, help me to be the right person for someone to marry and so please help me to become who You want me to be and not focus so much on how someone else should be that comes into my life. I know that You are sovereign over all things in my life so let me yield my own life to that of being a new creation in Christ (2 Cor 5:17) and to grow in grace, knowledge, and holiness so that my life is pleasing to You and in the Mighty Name of Jesus' I pray, amen.

Lord, I thank You that You will answer my prayers in Your perfect timing. Reveal what is in my heart, and make me ready to handle the answer in the right way when it comes. Help me to pray by faith consistently and long-term, to believe, wait, and then move forward in Your timing. Help me to be patient in prayer, not give up, and trust You even during moments when I feel negative emotions. I don't want to live by feelings but by faith. Help me not to take matters in my own hands. I choose to trust you, and I refuse to believe the lies of the enemy. I choose to be faithful in prayer (Colossians 4:2). Deepen my understanding, and give me a greater knowledge of what You are doing in my life. I choose to hold unswervingly to the hope that I profess (Hebrews 10:23). Stretch my faith in the midst of the wait, just as You did with Your disciples when encountering a storm at sea (Matthew 8:23-27). I thank You that You have all wisdom and will answer my prayers in the perfect way. In Jesus' name, amen.

Dear God,
I am so grateful for Your love and kindness in my life. I am so thankful that You truly do have the answers to lasting love. Please help me to align my perspective toward guys with Yours. Help me to desperately long for a man who fears the Lord. Help me to see the priceless value in a man who does. And I ask that You make me that kind of woman. Make me a woman who fears You and loves You with all that I am. Please give me patience as I wait for my future husband. Help me to be faithful and productive in this season. I love You and am so grateful for Your love for me.
