Prayer For Addiction To Drugs
O blessed Lord, you ministered to all who came to you:
Look with compassion upon all who through addiction have lost their health and freedom.
Restore to them the assurance of your unfailing mercy; remove from them the fears that beset them; strengthen them in the work of their recovery; and to those who care for them, give patient understanding and persevering love. Amen
Lord Jesus, I surrender every drug addict to you today. You know the struggles that they are going through right now. Others think they are living their best life, but that is deception from the enemy. Free them from the prison of drugs. Help them to know that they can find pleasure and happiness in you alone. Save them from their distress and give them supernatural strength to fight any manner of temptation that may come their way. I pray this believing in your holy name. Amen.
Almighty God, thank you for loving me even though I'm not perfect. I am struggling with this addiction, and as much as I want to quit, I keep falling back. I feel ashamed and tired. You are the only one that can help me fight this. Heal me inside-out. If there's anything in my heart that keeps me from moving forward, reveal it to me and show me how to deal with it. Remove fear from my heart and fill me with strength that I may keep walking in spirit and truth. In Jesus' name, I believe and pray. Amen.
Father God, I surrender every one that's struggling with drug addiction into your able hands. Lord, let them understand the hope to which you have called them. Send divine helpers into their lives to help them know their true identity. May they stop looking at themselves as addicts and see themselves as victors. As they start the recovery journey, let them do it from the point of victory and rest, knowing that Jesus has already set them free, and they are victorious in him. In Jesus' name, I believe and pray. Amen.
Dear Lord, even though you were fully God, you came on earth and lived a humble life. You persevered through it all because of me. I come to you today asking you to give me the same perseverance that you had as I start this journey of recovery and cleanness. I no longer want to be a slave to drug addiction. May your unfailing mercy cover my body and soul. May I fight the good fight of faith and always remember that I am the righteousness of God through you, Lord Jesus. May my identity in you become my reality and not drugs. In Jesus' name, I believe and pray. Amen.
Lord, I come before you with a broken heart. Many families are struggling out there because their loved ones are drug addicts. Parents are mistreating their children, and children are making the lives of their parents miserable every waking moment because of drug addiction. Lord, hear the cries of these families. Save them from the agony that they're going through in the hands of their relatives. Purify them with the blood of your son Jesus and help them to find freedom in you. Remove people who encourage them to go deeper into drug addiction from their lives and help them to fight so that they may come out clean and share their testimonies for the glory of your name. In Jesus' name, we believe and pray. Amen.
Lord, so many people are struggling with addiction out there, but very few of them are ready to come out and ask for help because of the way society treats drug addicts. Others are in church, but they cannot open up to fellow church members because they will be condemned. But you are a good Father who loves us unconditionally. Lord, hear the cry of their hearts. Reveal to them the right people to go to for help and give them the strength to do so. As they start the journey of recovery, please provide them with the power to keep off drugs and stay in the precise path that you have set for them. In Jesus' name, we believe and pray. Amen.
Oh Lord, I come to You to pray for all who are weighed down with some form of addition. Lord, You are the One Who came to set the captives free and to release the sinners from the chains that bind them. So I lift before Your throne of grace all those that have become addicted to drugs.
Lord, I know some personally and others that I know nothing about, but You know everyone that is enchained by the curse of drug-addiction. Look with compassion on all that are ensnared by any form of addiction, and send help and freedom to all who would accept help. Lord, I pray that they may be released from this imprisonment and returned to a life that has dignity and meaning.
Give wisdom to their family members and those that care from them, that they may be given the support and help to put them back on the road to recovery. Endow them with patience, understanding and perseverance, knowing that this can take time to address.
More than anything Lord, I pray for their salvation. You died for every drug addict and it was Your love for them that caused You to die on the cross of shame that they might be lifted up and seated with Christ in heavenly places. Save them Lord, in Jesus' name I pray,
