Prayer For A Dead Child
God, thank you that you promise to be our refuge, our safe place, our protector, and our shelter when we are battling through a storm. I pray that you would provide that shelter for my friend who had to say goodbye to their child. Help us to surround him/her with Your love during this time, and give them peace so they would know you love them and have not abandoned them. Give them the strength to take one day at a time, one moment at a time, and one step forward at a time.
Deliver us from all evil, O God,
for we would not lose hope,
would not forget your love.
Love this child forever
as we have loved him/her.
Guide our steps in the way of peace
till with our eyes we behold you
and shall praise you with all the saints
for ever and ever.
With a mother's strong love
you shelter us in your shadow, Lord
and you mourn as we do the death of this child.
Hold this child gently in your hand
and help us to await in joyful hope
the resurrection of the dead
and the life of the world to come.
God of all mystery, whose ways are beyond understanding,
lead us, who grieve at this untimely death,
to a new and deeper faith in your love,
which brought your only Son Jesus
through death into resurrection life.
We make our prayer in Jesus' name.

You warmed our hearts, gave light to our minds, and beauty to our spirits.
We gave you our love, wrapped you in our care, caressed you with our smiles.
Now you are gone.
We grieve.
We miss you so much.
The loving memories of you will keep you forever close to us - - - in our hearts, our thoughts, our souls.
We long to be with our dear beloved child, our hearts are heavy with deep sorrow and our breath is shallow. Please carry us, for we are overwhelmed by the pain of our grief. Words can not express the depth of our loss or the heartache we feel. We know you are with our dear beloved son (daughter), your heart is overjoyed by him. His breath is new life in Heaven. Please come and nurture our precious one. Thank you for the hope of eternal life that he has now received. Lord, you will keep him safe until we meet. We entrust him into your care now. Amen
God, during the darkest hour you can bring hope and healing. I pray that for the parents who have lost their child. Please shine your light as we honor and remember this sweet baby who is now in your arms. Please remove any fog from our minds and heart and help us to trust that you are still good, sovereign, and that you care. You bring hope to troubled hearts. Please cast out any of our fears or worries.
The Lord is close to the brokenhearted; he rescues those whose spirits are crushed.- Psalm 34:18
God, we pray that you will draw near to these parents who are grieving the loss of their baby. Thank you that you are close to them during this time and that you will never abandon them even during the toughest and most tearful days. When they have days where they feel numb and unsure, please lift them up with your strength.
To You, O Lord,
we humbly entrust this child,
so precious in Your sight.
Take him/her into Your arms
and welcome him/her into paradise,
where there will be no sorrow,
no weeping nor pain,
but the fullness of peace and joy
with Your Son and the Holy Spirit
forever and ever.
