Act of Hope
Information about the Act of Hope
The Act of Hope is a Catholic prayer expressing the hope that the believer, relying on God's grace, will endure in this life and go to heaven. In spite of our sin, we have hope in God, with whom all things are possible. For Catholics and other Christians, hope is seeing the "big picture," that the struggles of this life will eventually yield to the happiness of eternal life; we just have to endure in this life and have trust in God. The "Act of Hope" is called the Actus Spei in Latin.
Act of Hope
O my God,
Relying on Your almighty power and infinite mercy and promises,
I hope to obtain pardon for my sins, the help of Your grace, and life everlasting,
Through the merits of Jesus Christ, my Lord and Redeemer.
Amen
