Scripture Reading
Psalm 130:5-6
I wait for the LORD, my soul waits, and in his word I hope; my soul waits for the Lord more than watchmen wait for the morning, yes, more than watchmen wait for the morning.
Reflection
There is a particular quality to the hours before dawn — a watchful, expectant stillness. The psalmist knew that kind of waiting, the kind that aches and yet trusts that light is coming. Whatever situation you are waiting through right now, you are not alone in the dark. Dawn has always followed the night.
Prayer for Today
Be still before the Lordand wait patiently for him; do not fret when people succeed in their ways, when they carry out their wicked schemes. 8 Refrain from anger and turn from wrath; do not fret-it leads only to evil. 9 For those who are evil will be destroyed, but those who hope in the Lord will inherit the land.
Amen.
