Scripture Reading

Isaiah 49:15-16

"Can a woman forget her nursing child, that she should have no compassion on the son of her womb? Even these may forget, yet I will not forget you. Behold, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands."
Reflection
The image is startling in its tenderness: your name, engraved on the palms of God's hands. No matter how invisible or forgotten you have felt, this is the reality Scripture insists on. God's attention to you is not casual or intermittent — it is permanent, personal, and fierce with love. You are not a number. You are known.
Prayer for Today
Father, you know our hearts and share our sorrows. We are hurt by our parting from those whom we loved: when we are angry at the loss we have sustained, when we long for words of comfort, yet find them hard to hear, turn our grief to truer living, our affliction to firmer hope in Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Amen.
