Carried Through the Desert

Scripture Reading

Deuteronomy 1:31

"And in the wilderness, where you have seen how the LORD your God carried you, as a man carries his son, all the way that you went until you came to this place."
Reflection
The Israelites sometimes forgot that the wilderness years were not abandonment — they were being carried. It is easy, in our own dry seasons, to mistake God's silence for his absence. But look back: there are places in your past where you arrived safely, though you had no idea how. You were carried then. You are being carried now.
Prayer for Today
Gracious God, only source of life and health: Help, comfort, and relieve me, and give your power of healing to those who minister to my needs; that my weakness may be turned to strength and confidence in your loving care; for the sake of Jesus Christ.

Amen.
